[GUIDE] : How to Use iMessage on Android Smartphone Part two
And good news, now you can finally participate in their exchanges without having to buy an iPhone.
Beeper, a meta-messaging for all platforms
Beeper’s mission is to help you streamline your exchanges by bringing them all together in one place. No need, therefore, to run on WhatsApp to read the family’s messages, then jump on Instagram to take note of your fans’ requests, and then switch back to Skype, Facebook Messenger, IRC or even Twitter to answer any questions you may have. your loved ones or that your collaborators could ask you.
All these exchanges, all these conversations, will finally be centralized in one and the same place: Beeper.
In any case, this is what the publisher of the application promises. According to him, Beeper should indeed be seen as a messaging meta-solution and the tool will therefore allow you to aggregate all the exchanges you hold on all these platforms in one place.
iMessage on Android yes, but under certain conditions
The platforms, precisely, the solution supports a lot. Twitter, Facebook and Instagram are part of it, as well as Facebook Messenger. But that’s not all. The tool also works with Telegram, WhatsApp, Slack, Signal, Discord, Hangouts and even with this good old IRC which accompanied us for quite a few years in the early days of the web.
And then there’s iMessage. There, it must be admitted, it’s a real surprise, but Beeper will also give you access to Apple’s messaging, even if you don’t have an iPhone or iPad.
Finally, this is not entirely correct. For the system to work, the user must have an Apple device that will act as a gateway to Apple’s installations. Here, you have two choices if you have neither iPhone nor iPad: use a Mac connected to the Internet or ask the company to send you… a jailbroken iPhone.
Beeper has indeed prepared several iPhone 4s to act as a gateway and to allow people who have neither Mac nor iPhone to use iMessage on the solution. At least under certain conditions.
Unity through conversations
The best part is that behind, a real unity emerges from the application. All conversations use the same color codes, with neat and refined visuals. Which will undoubtedly be a good thing for those who, like me, have always found the interface of WhatsApp to be too aging.
Beeper obviously does not work by magic. The solution is based on a system which makes it possible to create bridges between the tool and all the messaging solutions mentioned above. All this while keeping the encryption on the platforms that use it.
Beeper is available on iOS and Android, of course, but also on macOS, Windows and Linux. Everyone can therefore benefit from it. On our side, we are going to install it on a test device and we will therefore probably soon have to talk about it again.
Note that the application is only available on registration for the moment, and places seem to be expensive. It will therefore probably be necessary to wait a little before everyone can benefit from it.
How to use iMessage on Android
iMessage is extremely popular on iDevices. From Apple Pay Cash, video call, audio call to the latest ‘Animoji’ sensation, it has plenty of hot ingredients for you to express all the vibrant colors of your feelings. Unfortunately, it is only available on iDevices. Charmed by the unparalleled security and great features, many people still want to use iMessage on their Android device.
If you are one of those Android users who are ready to get your hands on iMessage, you couldn’t be happier to know that there are a few apps out there that let you take a share of Apple’s messaging app. First of all, the process involves a bit of workaround, and you must need a Mac to skip the line. I know this is not the right solution at all. But we have no alternative – at least for now.
How to get iMessage on Android device
Configure weMessage to use iMessage on Android
weMessage lets you chat with your friends using Apple’s iMessage. The app supports almost all the main features like group chats, easy personalization, attachments, read receipts, built-in video player and web browser, notifications, contact blocking, big emoji message and more. The developer says it also protects your messages with AES encryption. To use this app, you must have a Mac with an active iMessage account.
Step 1. First, download the weMessage app on your Android device from the Play Store. Then download its weServer app on your Mac.
2nd step. As the app is not available on the official Apple Mac App Store, you will need to change your security and privacy settings to install this app on your Mac. Once installed, open it and follow the instructions to set it up.
Step 3. Then open the weMessage app on your Android device. Then log in using the IP address, email address, and password. When you’ve signed it, you’re good to go.
The weServer app will turn your Mac into a server to relay iMessages to the weMessage Android app.
It basically takes iMessages delivered to your Mac and streams them to an Android smartphone or tablet.
As stated by the developer on Reddit, the weServer app works as a bridge between a Mac and an Android device.
“WeMessage works by using Apple developer tools that connect to the Messages app, as well as enabling accessibility features that will send the message. There was no reverse engineering involved in creating this app, so all messages sent are legitimate. Also, I believe this implementation is fair because you still need an Apple device to use iMessage, but it’s just extended to all devices. “- Roman Scott, the developer
Note: There is nothing new about using Mac to relay messages to the Android device, as several apps have done it. However, the apps, which were created in the past based on the same concept, have been blocked by Apple. So we expect the Cupertino-based company to do that this time around as well.
Use the Android application “SMS for iMessage” (iChat)
There is another app called “SMS for iMessage App (iChat)” for Android. It is available for free and allows you to send up to five messages for free in a day. After that, you will need to upgrade to the pro version to send unlimited messages.
How does iChat work? SMS for iChat lets you route your text messages between your Mac and your Android phone.
After downloading the app to your Android device, you will need to create an account. Then you need to add your account to the iMessage app.
The best thing about this app is that you don’t need to install any app on your Mac. In addition, the installation process is less painful.
It stores your text messages for up to 3 days to make offline delivery possible. For security reasons, it encrypts your messages and deletes them after 3 days.
iMessage for Android: how to get and use it
One of the main differences between iPhone and Android is that Android devices cannot use iMessage. That’s true, but if you’ve got the right software, the right kind of computer, and some technical knowledge, or at least an appetite for experimentation, it’s actually possible to set up iMessage for your Android phone.
These instructions only work if you have access to a Mac device and your Android phone is running Android 5.0 or later. You will be using software that has not gone through the typical Apple approval process. While there is nothing wrong with it, you need to trust the software developer not to abuse your trust.
Why you can’t normally use iMessage on Android
You generally cannot use iMessage on Android, because Apple uses a special end-to-end encryption system in iMessage that secures messages from the device on which they are sent, through Apple’s servers, to the device that receives them. Because the messages are encrypted, the iMessage network can only be used by devices that can decrypt the messages.
Apple is keeping iMessage and all of its cool effects and features, including iMessage apps, exclusive to devices running iOS and macOS to entice people to buy its products. This is why there is no iMessage app for Android available on the Google Play Store.
That said, there is a way around Apple’s control over iMessage: a program called weMessage.
What you need to use weMessage
To use weMessage, you need the following:
- An iMessage account: This is probably your existing Apple ID.
- A Mac running macOS 10.10 (Yosemite) or higher: Using weMessage requires running a program on your Mac.
- Java 7 or higher installed on your Mac.
- An Android phone running Android OS 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher.
- The weMessage app installed on your Android phone.
