Here is an explanation of our level system:

  • Level S weapons are the best for every situation
  • Level A are amazing in themselves
  • Level B the guns are just missing something
  • Level C those are not worth your time

Our list of Resident Evil Village weapon levels:

  • Level S: F2 Rifle, W870 TAC Shotgun, M1851 Wolfsbane Magnum, SYG-12 Shotgun
  • Level A: M1897 shotgun, GM 79 grenade launcher, V61 submachine gun
  • Level B: M1911 pistol
  • Level C: Pistolet LEMI

Pistolet LEMI

As with any Resident Evil game, you’ll start with a rudimentary pistol designed to just help you scrape off the game’s meaty early encounters. The LEMI is no different, and even with upgrades it will quickly become a thought after the fact.

Use it as much as you can from the start and forget to conserve ammo, especially with the game’s first major Lycan kick, as health is much more important.

M1911 pistol

The M1911 isn’t too different from the LEMI in a lot of ways as it’s a pretty standard weapon with just a little better base stats. We love the rate of fire and, again, this is a useful weapon to use at the time of acquisition.

V61 submachine gun

When you finally meet the V61 submachine gun, you can pretty much say goodbye to one of your pistols, as the V61 will now take responsibility. This is useful in virtually any situation or battle, and once you apply a buff or two, this will often be your weapon of choice.

Make sure to pay attention to its firepower as its rate of fire and ammo are already decent.

M1851 Wolfsbane Magnum

There is a dizzying moment in Capcom’s games where you finally get your hands on the in-game Magnum. The famous revolver continues the legacy of the game by giving gamers another incredibly powerful pistol.

Even more than the GM 79 grenade launcher, we strongly recommend that you keep its use and preserve its limited ammunition, while waiting to encounter much more dangerous enemies.

M1897 shotgun

Your first hard-hitting weapon you get in Resident Evil Village. It does what every other base shotgun has done before, be a monster up close and kill enemies in one or two shots at the cost of fire rate and reload time.

With the M1897, you must master the art of patience. Wait until an enemy is within reach of you before unleashing a devastating shell on them to possibly kill them all in one hit.

W870 TAC shotgun

A better version of the M1897, the W870 TAC shotgun could potentially be your primary weapon if you’re good at conserving ammo. You get it at a decent point in the game, so improving its firepower and rate of fire is essential. Again, focus your shots, aim for the head, and your patience will be rewarded with more damage.

SYG-12 shotgun

An endgame addition to the pack, the SYG-12 Shotgun will become the de facto shotgun, especially with upgrades to improve its abilities. It’s powerful, fast and very well balanced.

You can probably sell the other two shoguns, if you still have them, once you have SYG-12.

F2 rifle

In the right hands, the F2 is potentially the best (non-Magnum) weapon in the game. Even though the description says “specialized to take out targets at long range”. the gun can ideally be used at any distance.

His potency is already phenomenal in his base form and upgrades should be a priority for him – especially reload speed. Choosing enemies without letting them sniff you is invaluable and will save you a lot of health.

Lance-grenades GM 79

Another staple of the Resident Evil franchise is the age-old grenade launcher. As usual, ammo is a bit rarer than the other guns on this list, which means it’s more of a specialist weapon.

Keep it more for bosses and sub-bosses, maybe even keeping it out of the way most of the time to free up room for other ammo, health, and important items. Make sure to update
