A waterproof case
If we had to remember only one defect in AirPods and AirPods Pro, it would probably be their non-resistance to humidity. It is therefore impossible to swim or cycle in the rain with these wireless headphones, at the risk of causing a short circuit with irreversible effects and not covered by the Apple warranty. Either way, no artificial intelligence is available in the pair for sports tracking.
But the problem does not end there, since even “protected” by their charging case, AirPods remain vulnerable to aquatic attacks. It only takes a single droplet in the socket which is used to connect them, and here is that the case is out of order. In order to avoid this inconvenience, a totally waterproof solution manufactured by Catalyst for less than thirty euros is available on the apple official website, with the added bonus of five different colors. Between pink, phosphorescent, white, black and blue, there is something for everyone.

Practical: a Bluetooth transmitter
It is not uncommon to find yourself in a car that is too old to be equipped with any wireless connection, essential for pairing AirPods to an audio source. In this situation, however, it suffices to connect a antenna to the jack port of the radio or CD player in order to transform it into a Bluetooth transmitter, the waves of which can then be picked up by Apple headphones. This very McGyver type of gadget costs around 45 euros at Boulanger: it’s always cheaper than a new vehicle or a brand new dashboard.

The most heads in the air choose the cord
Finally, and always in order to avoid losing your AirPods with each sudden movement, know that Boulanger also sells a magnetic cord that comes around each of the two AirPods so as to bring them together, like Powerbeats⁴ and other headphones almost without thread. The cable costs less than ten euros, for a principle very similar to that of the cord for which opt for those who keep losing their glasses, or who simply wish to have them always at hand, around the neck.

Best AirPods Pro accessories for 2021: wireless cases, ear tips, transmitters and in-flight chargers
When do you need an accessory for an accessory? When it’s one of the most popular wireless headphones. Apples AirPods Pro headphones have created their own ecosystem of accessories, with additional cases and other add-ons that help overcome minor deficiencies which, for some people, may be major.
When it comes to Apple’s AirPods and their accessories, there’s no shortage of variety. Whether you want genuine leather case versus silicone material, charging case, or wireless charging case, all are available. If you want a fun carrying case, a waterproof case, something with an included carabiner keychain, or something that dangles from your keychain, these are there, too. If you’re looking to customize things further, you can even get an AirPods Pro case or an AirPods skin. The options are seemingly endless.
But you have to start somewhere. From the best AirPods Pro case to the best wireless charger and more, here’s a look at some of Crumpe’s best accessory choices for AirPods, based on my own hands-on experience with each product. Most of them fall into the protective case and headphone upgrade buckets, along with a few other cool things I found. I’ll update this as I further test the best AirPods Pro accessories.
You can find cheaper knockoff versions of Catalyst’s AirPods Pro case ($ 30), but the Catalyst is a better Apple AirPod case than many imitators, not to mention one of the best AirPods cases you can buy. This AirPods case cover protects your AirPods case and makes it fully waterproof. Another key feature: The included carabiner allows you to attach the case to a belt loop or backpack or use it as a keychain case to prevent your wireless headphones from getting lost. This Catalyst waterproof case is currently available in black, blue or red. Expect more colors in the future.
For several years now, Comply has set the benchmark for memory foam tips and now you can get Comply tips for your AirPods Pro. I have tried them and they work great and even the large tip fits perfectly into the AirPods Pro charging case. With the guidance provided by Apple, I found that the AirPod Pro in my left ear felt a bit loose when running with the headphones on. With the Comply tip, it did not come off and fit well. They also seem to help reduce noise a bit as you get an even tighter seal.
Comply tips are quite expensive at $ 25. You can get foam tips that cost less (over $ 12 to $ 15), but like I said Comply is the gold standard and it might be worth paying a little more. If you know your specific size, you get three sets of tips in one pack (the same size. Comply also sells a pack with small, medium, and large tips although it is currently only available on the Comply website, not on Amazon). This might be a good option if you have a few people in your family who own AirPods Pro and have different sized ears.
Nomad makes beautiful leather cases for the original iPhone and AirPods. Its Rugged AirPods Pro case is one of the best I have tested. This AirPod Pro case fits like a glove and does well over time. It is available in three colors.
Charlie and Jen’s husband and wife team at CharJenPro achieved a Kickstarter success for AirPods foam earbuds in early 2020 and now have a growing line of AirPods Pro foam tips, including the new AirFoams Pro Form. Fit that has a slightly more convex shape than the original AirFoams Pro ($ 25). A new Active model is coming soon which wraps a layer of silicone over the foam.
They are similar to the Comply tips, but I noticed that the large Comply mouthpiece is slightly larger than the CharJenPro AirFoams Pro Form Fit. If you typically use a medium tip for your AirPods Pro, you might want to use a large foam tip, but the good news is that the M / L option comes with two tips, so you can try both (it there is also an S / M option). ).
The original CharJenPro foam tips come in a variety of colors, but the Form Fit is currently only available in black.
There is no shortage of generic AirPods Pro cases on Amazon. I was disappointed with several of them, including those from Spigen. This silicone case, available in several different color options, fits well and was thicker than some of the other generic AirPod cases I’ve tried. It only costs $ 6. You can get it with or without the AirPods Pro fingerprint. (Initially many colors were available, but currently that number has dropped to only a few options. Hopefully this is a temporary situation).
Be aware that all silicone (rubber) covers tend to attract a little dust.
Again, when it comes to generic tough cases, there are dozens of them on Amazon. However, this model of amBand, which mainly sells smartwatch bracelets, manages to stand out with its attractive design and reasonable price ($ 12). Just be aware that it’s a bit bulky, but you can still wirelessly charge your AirPods Pro with the case on. It is available in 4 color options.
If you’re looking for a mini USB-C wireless charging dock for your AirPods Pro (or standard AirPods), this Satechi accessory is the perfect fit. It’s very compact – basically slightly larger than the AirPods Pro case – and fits easily in a pocket. It works with any USB-C port that produces power. The only problem is that you might have a hard time plugging it in if you have some sort of case on your computer (it has to plug fully into the port to work).
RHA takes a slightly different view of a wireless flight transmitter. This one has two foldable 3.5mm sockets: you can choose to use a 3.5mm socket or two for older in-flight systems that have two sockets. The two plugs fit into the transmitter. The pairing process is the same as with the Twelve South transmitter and was straightforward. Like this model, this uses Bluetooth 5.0. It’s also rated for 16 hours of battery life and charges via USB-C. It also works with the Nintendo Switch.
What if you want to use your AirPods with an in-flight entertainment system or the TV built into a gym machine that requires a wired connection? Well, a workaround is to buy a Bluetooth transmitter that you can plug into any 3.5mm audio jack. There are several transmitters available from TaoTronics and other little-known brands (I tried the TaoTronics as well.)
To pair your AirPods with a transmitter, you need to turn off Bluetooth on your phone (or just put it in airplane mode), put your AirPods in their case, and hold the transmitter’s Bluetooth button until it switches on. in pairing mode, then press the pairing button on the AirPods case. (This video explains how to pair your AirPods.)
The battery life is 16 hours and the AirFly Pro uses Bluetooth 5.0.
Made of sturdy leather and equipped with a snap closure system, as well as an “anti-lost” S-Clip, the AirSnap leather case by Twelve South is a slightly different version of an Apple AirPods Pro case. . It is available in three leather colors for $ 35. You can wirelessly charge your AirPods Pro with the leather case turned on.
AirPods Pro have wireless charging, so you’ll need a wireless charger to take advantage of this feature. A good affordable option for your AirPods Pro and your phone is the Anker PowerWave. It offers 7.5 watt charging for your iPhone and 10 watt charging for Android models that support it. It costs $ 14 but sometimes goes on sale for less than $ 10. Available in black, white and blue.
