Hearthstone: Knights of the Frozen Throne – we leave for Northrend in August.
There was the official Hearthstone supplementary announcement at dawn, and although much had been leaked a little earlier, there were still surprises for the event.
Hearthstone’s next addition is Knights of the Frozen Throne, the long-awaited pack will finally arrive in August, including 135 new cards built around the Northrend, Scourge and Death Knights. We don’t get a new caste, but we do get 9 new caste cards so that our mouths don’t completely sag.
The new card type, Hero Card, is a card that replaces our hero (pretty much something like Jaraxxus), arrives with some immediate effect and replaces our hero ability. The first card presented is Deathstalker Rexxar, who will be the hero card of the Hunter caste.
After we put down the card, each enemy minion deals 2 damage, and then the Rexxar Death Knight version gets a new ability to make Zombeasts out of its creatures. Each caste will receive a Death Knight version, along with plenty of other cards. A new mechanics, Lifesteal, will also be introduced. If a creature equipped with a Lifesteal hits our opponent, our hero heals as much damage as he inflicts. The Knights of the Frozen Throne cards presented so far are as follows:
Blizzard announced at the start of the Year of the Mammoth that the classic Adventure packs are over and there will be add-ons in the future that will have their own adventure section in addition to bringing in a new deck of cards. Knights of the Frozen Throne is the first of its kind, as here we also get a three-level adventure with card packs and a random Hero Card. In addition, the adventure will be available to everyone for free.
The official announcement also came with a very cozy trailer whose background music will be very familiar to all World of Warcraft players.
So the Knights of the Frozen Throne will include 135 new cards, a 3-level Adventure section, a new game table, and a new card type. All this will run in August. The new accessory will be available for pre-order these days, and anyone who is already shopping can take a Frostmourne card back home.
