E3 is in full swing and … Well, no, not yet officially, but it looks suspiciously like it with that absurd amount of fat announcements. Only check into this new guard last evening and night. Days Gone Date Revealed, Paladins Confirmed for Switch, Hitman 2 Announced! Say good morning!
WHOOO FRIDAY AGAIN !!!!
Days Gone will be released on February 22
Last night immediately started with the release date of a promising zombie game. It seems that Sony has not been able to rent the room for their E3 press conference (next Tuesday morning, 3:00 AM), because they already announced everything the days before, which apparently no longer fit into the show. That started yesterday with the announcement of Tetris Effect and that continues today with the announcement that Days Gone will be released on February 22nd. And of course not without a brand new trailer!
And, do you like it? The Guard himself can estimate it a bit difficult, given his view that zombies are completely milked, uninspired and boring. Can’t help it either.
Tomorrow at 5:00 PM Sony will happily continue with another announcement, this time of a new PlayStation 4 game. For the coming days they have listed what we can expect:
Friday June 8: new PS4 game
Saturday June 9: New PSVR game
Sunday June 10: A PSVR port of an eagerly anticipated game
Hitman 2 official, will be released in November
The logo accidentally appeared online earlier this week, but now it is real: Warner Bros. has announced that Hitman 2 will be released as early as November, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game is again made by IO Interactive, who was allowed to take the rights from Square Enix. It is a sequel to the previous installment from 2016 and of course follows the deadly adventures of Agent 47 again, this time also learning more about his past and we go on a hunt for the mysterious Shadow Client. In addition, the game should get more modes, features and other novelties, but details are not there yet. Then a trailer? Then just trailer!
Since the first part initially came in several separate episodes and was sometimes called ‘season 1’, it was still the question whether that 2 would not stand for a season 2, but that turned out not to be the case. Part 2 will not be episodic, but will simply appear all at once. Apart from any DLC, of course.
In addition to the reveal of Hitman 2, a co-op mode for the game has also been revealed: Sniper Assassin Mode! In this you will, for the first time in a Hitman game, work together (but also alone) with sniper rifles. And the great thing is: this mode is immediately playable! The condition is that you must pre-order Hitman 2, but that is a no-brainer for a little Hitman fan. Enjoy!
Paladins is coming to Switch on June 12
Correct the Guard if he’s wrong, but it looks like Nintendo Switch is getting its first Hero Shooter this month! Hi-Rez Studios has announced that Paladins will arrive on the hybrid handheld on June 12. This is an Early Access version, which you can play if you buy the Founder’s Pack for $ 29.99 (euro price not yet known).
For that money you also have all current 36 Champions, all future Champions and some exclusive cosmetic items. A free-2-play version will also be released later this summer.
Extra nice: the game runs both docked and handheld at 60 frames per second and crossplay multi-player with Xbox One is possible! If that doesn’t work …
Project Highrise is coming to PS4, Xbox One and Switch
And then an announcement that makes the Guard very happy: Sim Tower clone Project Highrise is getting a console version! The game, in which you build a successful skyscraper and have to keep it running, has previously been released for PC, Android and iOS. The Guard happened to call it the best mobile game of April, and for good reason!
The so-called Architects Edition of Project Highrise is coming to Sony’s as well as Microsoft’s and Nintendo’s devices this fall, and will include all the expansions already released and more. Builders ready? Build it!
Crackdown 3 postponed to February 2019
Unfortunately not all good news this Wait, but by now not very surprising anymore: Crackdown 3 will no longer reach 2018. The game was scheduled to release this spring, but it has been seriously quiet for a long time, much to the concern of fans. Microsoft has now announced to Windows Central that the explosive title won’t be released until February 2019.
The good news: we’ll be seeing more of Crackdown 3 at upcoming E3! Until then, you’ll have to make do with last year’s E3 trailer.
Fallout 76 E3 mural complete
You’ve probably seen it before, but now it’s completely finished: the mega-game ad that traditionally adorns the walls of Hotel Figueroa in LA every year during E3. This year it’s Fallout 76’s turn. What do you think? Co-op confirmed by this painting? We are all going to see it Sunday night / Monday morning at 3:30 am at Bethesda’s E3 show.
Mighty fine poison
However, if your GameCube keeps doing this at startup, something isn’t quite right… by the way, raise your hand if, like the Guard, you’re hoping for some juicy GameCube remasters for the Switch this E3!
GRIP is coming this fall
Arcade racers are very hot right now, but we don’t see a specific type of them that often anymore: the car combat game! GRIP jumps into that gap, a kind of spiritual successor to the classic Rollcage games, and that is a game of spectacular! With a new trailer, developer Caged Element is announcing that the game will be leaving Steam Early Access in the fall and will also appear on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch!
New Avalanche Game Revealed: Generation Zero
As the Guard reported yesterday, they had been teasing it for a while, but the moment of unveiling has come today (and not just at E3, are you crazy…)! The latest game from Swedish Avalanche Studios is called Generation Zero and will be an open world 4-player co-op shooter, set in an alternative Sweden of the 80s. The Guard gets huge Stranger Things vibes, but instead of monsters, you take on robots. Also nice!
Avalanche Studios, of course known for Just Cause and the Mad Max game, is going to release this game themselves, something they have not done before. Generation Zero should be released in 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Strange Brigade co-op trailer
Speaking of Stranger Things and 4-player co-op, here’s another trailer for a multiplayer game that the Guard hadn’t heard of before! Strange Brigade is due out on August 22nd, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Ark: Survival Evolved is coming to mobile
You would think that when PUBG and Fortnite came to mobile recently, the makers of Ark must have thought, “, we want that too!”, But luckily for the players, they’ve been on it for a while and a mobile is already running beta testing since March. Regardless, today it was announced that Ark: Survival Evolved will be released on Android and iOS June 14! And that’s mighty good timing, given that dinosaurs are all the again with the new Jurassic World movie. Warning from the optician: do not watch the trailer below on full screen …
Piece of interface and map of Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Another very short film then, to close the Guard. David Boileau from Eidos Montreal takes us (for a moment) to the design of the user interface and map of the new Tomb Raider. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is scheduled to release September 14, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
You must have it from your viewers …
Happy Pre-E3 Friday everyone!
