Today, Honor is one of the big protagonists of the day, as the company traveled through IFA 2020 to announce a fair amount of news. One of the devices they showcased is the Honor Watch ES, their particular watch with an elongated screen, but it’s not the only wearable the company has shown, as Honor took the opportunity to announce the GS Pro Honor Watch, your first ruggedized smartwatch.

Unlike its Watch ES sibling, the Honor Watch GS sets aside sophisticated design to bet on a more exterior aesthetics, showcasing the finished stainless steel ring and dial and its rugged design. It can be obtained in white, black and camouflage blue, a blue with a military print. At the bottom, for its part, we have the Huawei TruSeen 3.5 heart rate sensor, as well as a Sp02 sensor which will be used to measure the level of oxygen in the blood.

And since we are talking about sensors, it should be noted that the device has a built-in GPS sensor and a most interesting function: Route Back, which essentially records and saves the route we have followed to offer us the way back without having to connect the watch to the mobile. It also has a barometer, water resistance of 5 ATM (50 meters) and a notification system for severe changes in weather conditions.

As for the screen, there is a 1.39 inch AMOLED panel with 454 x 454 pixels resolution, which translates to 326 pixels per inch. It is tactile and can be personalized with animated covers with an exterior aesthetic. To keep it powered on, the device will use a 790mAh battery with which Honor promises up to 25 days of battery life and up to 48 hours with GPS enabled.

One of the novelties related to exercise is the ski, snowboard and cross-country support

When it comes to exercise, the Watch GS Pro supports over 100 sport modes including hiking, rock climbing, swimming, triathlon and, like novelty, ski (including skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing). Honor explained that the device is able to automatically detect when you start to exercise and in addition, it will give voice guides.

Finally, as a smartwatch, we can handle calls from the clock, store up to 500 songs, take pictures with your mobile remotely, control our stress level and analyze our sleep. Now we’ll have to wait and see how comfortable it is to wear it while we sleep, as the device weighs 45.5 grams.
