Little players and their parents

594 parents of children under 18 participated in the study. They were asked if their offspring played games. Only 28.5% of the respondents answered in the negative. Among those whose children eagerly reach for digital entertainment, as many as 59% admitted that they play with them. 11% do it less than once a month, 24% do it once or twice a month, 26% about once a week and 31% several times a week. Moreover, 8% play with their children every day. These are definitely good results, but compared to the previous years, the number of parents playing has decreased. On the other hand, parents who share their children’s interests play with them more often than in previous years.

The respondents answered the question about the frequency of gambling in times of a pandemic. Those who have children also spoke for them. 10% of adults and 9% of children played less than before. 47% of adults / 37% of children have not changed their habits. On the other hand, 31% of adults and 39% of children play more often than before starting work / remote learning.

How did players spend up or down depending on the platform? 15% of consoles spend more than before, but 22% spend less. This trend also continues for other platforms. 13% of PC gamers have paid more for their entertainment, but 16% have paid the opposite.

This is what the habits of players look like in times of a pandemic. Both younger and older players were forced to stay at home. It was time to catch up and cut down on the “shame pile” so we didn’t spend more. Although young players enjoy a lot of freedom in choosing the games they play, their parents pay more attention to their (or their) wallets.
