How to free up space on WhatsApp quickly with your storage manager
We are going to explain to you how to free up space on WhatsApp quickly and easily, something we are going to use your new storage management tool for. If you usually receive many multimedia files in this app such as photos or videos, it may end up taking up more storage than it should on your mobile, and now you can know what you want to delete specifically to keep what you are interested in having in your mobile memory.
Until now, WhatsApp allowed you to free up space by choosing the files to delete. Instead of selecting a type of files and deleting them all, you will be able to access a visualization of all the files exchanged in each chat to select what you want to delete exactly, and free up space by keeping some files that you think you want to keep.
Free up space on WhatsApp
The first thing you have to do is enter WhatsApp, within the activated account that you are using. Once inside, click on the three-dot button at the top right to open the options menu. Here, click on the Settings option to enter the application settings.
Once you enter the WhatsApp settings, you have to click on the Storage and data section. The section will be in fourth place, and in it you will have the options related to controlling the data consumed by the application and the memory occupied by its files.
Once inside the Storage and data options, you have to click on the Manage storage option that will appear at the top of everything. If it does not appear, make sure again that you have WhatsApp updated to the latest version.
You will arrive at a screen where at the top you will see a bar indicating the amount of memory on your mobile that Android files are occupying in general, and WhatsApp files in particular. Below you will have a list with all the chats where files have been exchanged, each having an indicator of the space its elements occupy on your hard drive.
When you click on one of the contacts you will go to a screen where you will see all the files that you have exchanged and that are taking up space in your phone’s memory. Here, you can select only some and delete them, or click on the option to select all to be able to delete them all at once.
