How to install additional languages in Windows 10 (and switch between them).

Since its inception, Windows has allowed us easily change the language of input methods, such as the keyboard, or freehand speech and text recognition. In addition, in newer versions it is also possible to easily change the system interface languagejust by downloading a language pack.

In Windows 10 all these options are still present, and in fact using them is easier than before thanks to the new interface of the Settings app. Even so, there are still users who do not know how to adjust the language of the operating system and related options, so for them we dedicate this little step by step guide that explains all the particularities of language management in Windows 10.

How to change the interface language, keyboard, voice and handwriting recognition

First of all we must go to the Settings application, and within it to the Time and language> Region and language section. Once there we will see 2 groups of options:

  • country and region: Defines the type of regional content that we can access. Changing this option will not change the language of the Windows interface or that of the input methods, but it can allow us to access special content that is not available in our country (for example, Cortana, Groove Music Pass, movies and series of TV in the store, etc.).

  • Languages: This is the section that interests us. Here we can see which languages are currently installed, and what options are active for each of them.

  • Handwritten text recognition
  • Keyboard

Note: Some rare languages do not offer all of these options.
