How to link Yandex.Mail or Gmail to your own domain (personal example).
How to link Yandex.Mail or Gmail to your own domain (personal example)
Today we have an extracurricular reading.
I’ve been wanting to change my mailbox name and move it to my own domain for a long time, but I haven’t gotten around to it. Suddenly, a guy started imitating my mail, signing as Maloche.ail.com) and begging developers for promo codes on behalf of SamaGame.com.

So I decided to open an email account on a domain I had for a long time. malosiev.com. The task was the following: link the mailbox gmail to toalosiv.com There are no additional costs for hosting, website and other nonsense that I do not need. Just the mail. At the same time I registered maloseiev.ru, maloseiv.com, maloseiv.ru to protect myself from the situation described above.
Now I am going to tell you a universal method suitable for all domain registrars or hosting companies.

Have your own domain name
You must have your own domain name on which you want to create a post office. If you don’t have a domain, buy one.

Connect to Yandex servers
It is Yandex who helps us with Gmail. The free Mail for Domain service will help you. You must have a Yandex account to authorize and link the domain in order to follow the next steps.

- First we connect the domain to Yandex. Again, we do it all without hosting.
- Then we confirm that the domain belongs to us and not to someone else. Yandex offers three ways to confirm. We choose to confirm by specifying as the temporary email that is given to you in this step.
You can go have a cup of tea in the meantime, because you have to wait for a while until the domain is shown in the manager “Domain connected and delegated to Yandex”.
-
Next, go to the control panel of the registrar’s NS server and type in the ones suggested by Yandex:
– Primary DNS server: dns1.yandex.ru.
– Secondary DNS server: dns2.yandex.ru.For reliability, I have tested the servers on the same log panel.
At this step you can stop and not continue reading, because your domain is connected to Yandex.Mail.
It requires a box and start using the service with only one BUT: in the UK area the settings start working in 24 hours. In the COM zone, it is instantaneous. That’s why I used as an example malosiev.com.
Therefore, if you stop using Yandex.Mail, you can access your mailbox at the following link:
http://mail.yandex.ru/for/yourdomain.ru

Connect your domain to Google Mail
Personally, I am used to using the Gmail email service, so the next task was to connect to Google servers, and Yandex will help us with that.
Log in to Google Apps. Click on Getting Started in the menu on the right and fill out the registration form.
On the third page, we are asked to think of a mailbox for which administrator rights will be set. Without thinking too much, I wrote .

Google also asks us to confirm the right to the domain, so we start with the Confirm domain name menu. Click Next and in the list of registrars select Other.
We are prompted to add a TXT entry such as “google-site-verification=uhmfZ_P******” to the DNS settings for malosiev.com. Don’t be intimidated, I’ll tell you how to do it. Go back to the Yandex panel and click on DNS editor. This is a very important menu that we will work closely with.
In the section. Add a DNS record select the Type txtand in the free field we put the entire Google variable.

Then go back to the newly created Google Apps account and click Confirm. Google should nod and approve you the right to the domain.
In order for the mail to reach Google Mail and not Yandex, the last step is to specify the MX mail servers for your domain. Just follow the instructions below and don’t get carried away by the terms. You have a server table in front of you.
MX server address | Priority |
---|---|
ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. | 10 |
ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. | twenty |
ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. | twenty |
ASPMX2.GOOGLEMAIL.COM. | 30 |
ASPMX3.GOOGLEMAIL.COM. | 30 |
ASPMX4.GOOGLEMAIL.COM. | 30 |
ASPMX5.GOOGLEMAIL.COM. | 30 |
These data have to be entered into the Yandex account as we did for the TXT input.
So we go back into DNS Editordelete the bottom line @ MX mx.yandex.ru., and then add the values from the priority table.
The values are taken together with spot (.) in the end: LT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. – This is very important! In the end, the result in the Yandex manager should be like this:
You can see that Yandex has a bug as it gives all servers a priority of 10. Click Configure to the right of the desired server and set the priority manually.
Then copy the link into your browser, substituting your domain:
https://www.google.com/a/cpanel/yourdomain.ru/Configuration InstructionsMX
… and press I have followed these steps. You can then send yourself a test letter. As a reminder, the changes will take effect in 24 hours for the UK area.
The email will be accessed through a link: gmail.comthe login is your entire mailbox (), password – what you entered.

Now the good.
By linking your domain to Yandex or Google mail services, you can create many addresses ending in @yourdomain.ruwhich is suitable, for example, for organizations or dividing their own interests.
I say goodbye to you. arthur(at)malosiev.com – this is my new email.
updateThe TXT field: Google also recommends adding another TXT field: v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all instead of the one assigned by Yandex by default.
