Recent versions of the Microsoft Edge browser have automatically enabled a new sidebar for some users, with items from Search, Shopping, Tools, Games, Microsoft Office, and Outlook not useful for everyone.
These simple instructions detail how to remove the sidebar in Microsoft Edge if you don’t need it – easily done in settings or with a keyboard shortcut.
Disable Microsoft Edge Sidebar
To remove the Sidebar from Edge (not to be confused with another feature that has almost the same name: Edge Panel), just follow these simple steps:
Instead of steps 1 and 2, you can simply click the settings icon at the bottom of the sidebar. This completes the process and the sidebar will no longer appear.
