How to sell photos online. Looking through some photos he took during his last vacation, he found some particularly beautiful ones that he thinks, if sold, could spark public interest and produce something.

In today’s guide, I’ll introduce you to some microstock services that allow you to sell your photo works online at quite affordable prices.

AdobeStock

One of the first solutions for sell photos online What I advise you to consider is AdobeStockthe service that allows you to purchase photos to use in projects created with Adobe Creative Cloud platform software.

It also allows you to upload your own photos and sell them for up to 33% royalties for photos and 35% for videos. Payment is made via PayPal upon reaching at least 50 euros.

To use Adobe Stock, linked to its main page, press the button Sale located at the top right and, on the page that opens, press the blue button introduction to create your Adobe ID.

You will be shown a form in which you must provide the name, last name, Email address, password and birthdate.

Then you must press the button Record and follow the instructions on the screen to complete the registration.

If instead you already have an Adobe ID, you can skip this step by pressing the button I already have an Adobe ID and sign in with your login credentials.

When you first access the service, you will be asked if you already have Fotolia (a microstock service that was acquired by Adobe a few years ago and gave birth to Adobe Stock). Press the button Yes, I am a Fotolia author to link your Fotolia account to Adobe Stock or on the button No. Please continue to the next step.

If you have chosen not to link your Fotolia account, you will need to upload the images you wish to sell on Adobe Stock: click the link Browse place it in the center of the page and select the images you want to sell, or drag them into the browser window, in the area Drag and drop files.

After uploading an image, the service will automatically recognize the uploaded file type and even the content present in it. However, make sure that the file type, category, and keywords automatically chosen by the service are correct, and if necessary, modify them by selecting the ones you want.

finally answer the question Are there recognizable themes or properties? from the menu on the right (below) by pressing Yeah either No and then press the green button Submit for approval. Finally, upload the image of a valid identity document by pressing the button Select document (JPEG)to submit the photo for approval.

If the image is approved by the Adobe team and actually sells, you can earn a small percentage of the sale, as I told you above.

iStockPhoto

iStockPhoto is another site to sell photos on the Internet that you should try. This is a microstock service conceived by GettyImages, a world-renowned photo agency from the United States, that allows you to earn money selling your photos, receiving a percentage of 15% on the sale, which can be up to 45% by exclusive contributors. . Payment is made in the month following the achievement of the minimum payment threshold, set at $100.

To sell photos on iStockPhoto, link to this page and press the button ASK located at the bottom.

Then complete the registration form that is proposed to you by providing your name, last name, Email address and the country of residence.

Accept the conditions of use of the service, put the check mark in the corresponding box, put the check mark in the article I am not a robot and, after following the necessary instructions to verify that you are not a robot, press the button following.

On the page that opens, press the button (+) placed in Photo –> You can upload up to 15 photosto upload the photos you want to sell on iStockPhoto (max. 15).

On the page that opens, then press the button Search on your PC and upload the photos remembering that they must be in JPEG / JPG format and that each of them can have a maximum weight of 3 GB.

Then fill in the text fields photo title, Photo description (optional) providing information about the image you uploaded and pressing the button Add to question.

When you finish the operation for the remaining photos you want to sell, press the button Send the request You’re done! The GettyImages team will send you an email informing you that they will review the material you have submitted and inform you that your request has been accepted within 30 business days.

Are you not satisfied with the services that I told you about in the previous lines? In that case, I advise you to consider Shutterstock, another very famous microstock portal (also available as an Android and iOS app), which allows you to sell your photos for prices between €0.21 and €2.90 each. The payment is made at the end of each month and it is not necessary to reach a pre-established minimum threshold.

To sell photos on Shutterstock, linked to this page, press the orange button Begin and sign up for the service by completing the form displayed on the screen.

Enter your full name in the text field Full namechoose the name so that other users can see it by completing the text field Display name (If you want, you can also leave the name entered automatically.)

Provide the email address to register and indicate it in the text field Email address and also indicates the password access you want to use.

To complete the registration, check the item related to the acceptance of the terms of use of the service and the declaration that you are of legal age and press the button following to continue.

You should now receive a message at the email address you registered with: click on the link Click here to verify your emailto validate the email address you entered.

On the page that opens in the browser, press the button following and fill out the form you see on the screen providing the information: address and the cellphone number and press the button again following to continue.

At this point, you can finally upload your first image to Shutterstock. Fall in love with the red button upload images and follow the instructions you see on the screen to upload one or more photos. I remind you that you can upload JPEG files that have a minimum size of 4 megapixels.

Click the button I have it! to close the information window containing the recommendations for uploading the content on the platform and drag the images you want to upload to the area Drag and drop your files here or press the button Select multiple files to select them “manually”.

After uploading one or more photos, press the button following located at the bottom right of the page and then press the red button add details to add details (in English) about the uploaded content.

I advise you to choose very carefully the keywords with which you will describe the images because the visibility that the content will have on the platform will depend on this and, consequently, on the possible downloads and earnings that you will obtain.
