In this guide, I will show how to log out of google account both on mobile phones and tablets with the Android operating system and on iPhone and iPad. I will show you the procedures to perform this operation, both from the device settings and from the web browser you use. In addition, I will explain how to disconnect a Google account also through the PC.
How to sign out of Google account on Android
If you have a mobile phone or tablet Android, can sign out of google account associated with it by acting directly on the device settings. To do this, accessing the settings (the icon with the symbol of a gear you find on the home screen), by clicking on account.
On the screen that appears, tap Google, to access the list of accounts associated with the Android phone or tablet in use. Now, if you want to disconnect one of them, tap on it and in the next section, press the symbol ⋮ that you find in the upper right corner.
In the context menu, press > Delete account and then press again > Delete account, on the screen that is shown to you. In this way, you will have disconnected the Google account from the device you own.
If, on the other hand, you have accessed Google through the browser Google Chrome, launch the latter via its quick launch icon on the home screen. press the button ⋮ located at the top right.
Click on settings and select the Username at the top of the screen.
After that, scroll down the screen and tap first > Quit Chrome > Go outto confirm the disconnection of the Google account from the browser sessions.
Alternatively, go to the website account.google.com or any Google website, search for the miniature icon in the upper right corner and touch it. On the new screen that appears, tap on > Go out to log out of the session account.
If, at this point, you want to connect a new Google account to your device, all you have to do from the Android settings is go to the section account, or, in the case of web browsing, press the key to access that you find on Google.
Sign out of Google account on iOS
if you have a iphone or a iPad, you can sign out of the Google account from the iOS settings or from the browser in use. But let’s go in order.
To unlink a Google account from iOS, launch the app settings touching the icon with the symbol of a gear that you find on the screen.
Scroll down the screen and find Account and password.
In the section accountidentify the Google account address or the names of your applications, such as gmail.
Now tap on the individual items and on the new screen tap on the text Delete account and then confirm the procedure by touching Delete from iPhone.
If, on the other hand, you have accessed a Google site through the browser, touch the color icon in the upper right corner, and on the new screen that appears, tap > Go out to unlink your account. This procedure is valid on any Google services site.
Now, if you want to associate a new Google account with the iPhone or iPad, go to iOS settings through section Account and password.
Alternatively, in case you want to connect with your account to a Google web service via Safari or another browser, go to your website and press the button to access in the upper right corner.
How to sign out of Google account on a computer
If you use Google services on your PC, the procedure to follow to disconnect your account varies depending on the operating system you are using or the application you are using.
windows
If you have set up a Google account on a PC with an operating system Windows 10you can disconnect it directly from the operating system settings.
Access the dashboard settings Windows 10, using the key combination windows+ (S) or by pressing the button start (the flag icon located in the lower left corner of the screen) and clicking the icon with symbol of a gear.
at this point > account > Email accounts and applicationsin the left sidebar.
Now click on the Google email address that you have associated with the PC and press manage.
On the screen you see > Delete account and confirm the operation by pressing Eliminate. In this way, you will have disconnected the Google account from Windows 10.
macOS
If you have associated a Google account with Mac, you can go offline by going to macOS Settings. To do this, click on the icon with the symbol of a bitten apple (Apple) in the upper left corner of the screen. In the menu, click System preferences.
In the next window, click on internet account > Google. Then press the button with the symbol – located at the bottom left and confirm the deletion of the account by pressing accept.
Backup and sync
If you use the software Backup and sync from Google Drive, you can disconnect the associated Google account through the procedures in both Windows and macOS.
In windowsclick the icon with the symbol of a speech bubblewhich is located in the lower right, next to the clock, in the application bar.
In macOSinstead, the icon with the symbol of a speech bubble It’s in the upper-right corner of the menu bar.
This will open a small screen where you have to click on the icon with the symbol ⋮ on the right.
Select preferences > settingsin the left sidebar, and press Disconnect account.
Confirm the operation by pressing the button disconnect.
From the browser
If you use Google web services, such as Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Drive, you can unlink your Google account from them using a very simple procedure.
What you need to do is get to the website of the Google service you are interested in and click on the icon in the upper right corner, which represents the miniature of your account image or the initial of your name.
At this point, in the menu, press the button Go outto immediately disconnect the Google account from the web browser.
If you’ve signed in from multiple browsers, you’ll need to repeat this procedure for each one to completely disconnect your Google account login details from your browsing sessions.
Another solution you could adopt is to remove the association between the Google account and a mobile device.
To do this, sign in to myaccount.google.com and click the tab Access and security. that you find on the left.

At this point, in the center of the screen, locate the list of devices in which the Google account is associated and press the item Check devices.
Click on one of the devices from which you want to unlink the account and press the button Remove. Finally confirm the procedure by pressing the button again Removein the window that appears, to disconnect the account from the device and applications.
