How to sign up and download the beta version of WhatsApp, both on Android and iOS
Today we are going to explain how to sign up and download the beta version of WhatsApp, both on Android and iOS. If you want to try out the new features and additions they are experimenting with in the app before making them public, it lets you do so by joining their group of beta testers.
The idea of these betas is that you can test the new versions and functions of the app and report bugs before they are published. We are going to explain the steps you must follow to be part of these test users whether you have an Android mobile or an iPhone. If you are an Apple user, keep in mind that the company imposes a limit of 10,000 beta testers per application, so you will have to wait for free slots.
Before launching, one thing you have to understand is that beta versions of an application are just that, trial versions, which means that they have not been debugged and you may run into bugs from time to time. Therefore, if you do not want an unstable version that may have more errors than the account, you better stick with the conventional version.
Sign up for the WhatsApp beta on Android
The first thing you have to do to access the WhatsApp betas is to sign up on the application’s beta testers website, which you can access through the web play.google.com/apps/testing/com.whatsapp. Once you’re inside, you just have to press the button Become a tester that you have on the screen.
And that’s it, from now on you are part of the WhatsApp beta tester community, and you can now access their trial versions. All you have to do is go to the WhatsApp app on Google Play. There, you will see that you can now see the word (beta) in parentheses, and that you can update the app if you have it installed. Click the Update button, and the beta version will install on top of the normal app. If you don’t already have it installed, hit the Install button.
Sign up for the beta of WhatsApp on iOS
The first thing you have to do to access the Spotify beta on your iPhone is download the TestFlight app. You can find it in the App Store, and it is used to access all the applications that have beta phase on iOS.
When you open the application, you have to click on the Continue button that will appear on the first screen you enter to start the process. Above you have an explanation with everything you will be able to do with it, which is to accept invitations to beta versions, test the apps and give your opinion.
Before you start, you will have to approve the terms and conditions of the application. You will go to a screen where you will be able to read them all, and where you have to press the Accept button to approve them.
Once you have the TestDrive application ready, you have to enter the invitation link to the WhatsApp beta, which in this case is THIS LINK. When you enter the link, if there is room to access the beta you will have to click on the button Start the tests.
There is bad news, and that is Apple puts a limit of 10,000 people for betas. This means that when you try to enter you may not be able to sign up, and that you will have to wait until it coincides that someone has abandoned it to take their place.
That will take you to a screen where now you only have to install the app. For it press the Install button of the application under test to download it to the device. You will see the application among the rest, with a yellow circle next to the name to indicate that it is the beta version.
