How to start playing World of Warcraft? – basics, choosing a race, server, class, playing for free.
For some time now we have been able to buy a new expansion for World of Warcraft – Battle for Azeroth – so many new and old players will come to the game. Some people will ask themselves: “how to start playing WoW?”. In this article you will find all the necessary information.
No, we will not be talking about private servers here. Everything I write about applies only to global servers.

Buying a game
First, of course, you have to buy the game. To fully enjoy the game, you must have the base game and all expansions. What’s the best way to buy the game right now? I would hold off on buying the Legion expansion for a while. It currently costs over PLN 100, and Battle for Azeroth will be released soon, so battlechest owners will get it for free. That’s right… Battlechest. This is a box containing the WoW base and all expansions for Warlords of Dreanor (i.e. without Legion). If I’m not mistaken, Legion is now also available in Battleches, so there’s no point in buying the Legion expansion unless it’s for the box. Of course, it’s better to check it.
What does battlechest contain apart from add-ons? We will get 30 days of the game for free. If you have a friend who plays World of Warcraft, it is worth setting up an RAF with him, because you will both receive interesting perks. If anyone doesn’t know what I’m talking about, I refer them to this article – CLICK!.

Okay, but how much does it all cost? Battlechest is an expense of PLN 30-40, Legion (if someone insists on buying it) is about PLN 100, the new Battle for Azeroth expansion is about PLN 180, I think. In addition, you will have to pay a subscription, which costs PLN 100. If you don’t know what it is, I recommend entering the phrase “Wow prepaid” in Allegro. But don’t worry, if you can’t afford to pay for 60 days of the game, there is also a way to do that. You can play WoW for free by buying tokens with gold. At the beginning of a new addition, you can farm gold for up to half a year, and if someone wants it, and more, so saying that WoW is too expensive is a bit stupid. If you want to learn how to earn gold, I recommend this article – CLICK!.
Oh… It’s important to choose the right region when buying. If you live in America, playing on European servers can be problematic due to ping. This is worth bearing in mind.

Another quick tip. If you have a slower internet, it’s a good idea to start downloading WoW before you buy it. For me it takes up 50 GB.
If you don’t know if you’ll like World of Warcraft, take a look at the trial version. You can play up to level 20 there for free. Of course, there are some limitations, e.g. no access to the auction house.

Server selection
Choosing a server is an important thing if you don’t want to change server later just because there’s no one to play with. If you want to raid, it will be a good idea to choose “Polish” servers. Why “Polish” and not Polish? Because other nationalities play there, but the number of Poles on the two servers I’m about to talk about is overwhelming. Okay… The first server will be Burning Legion, which I’m currently playing on. When it comes to raiding, it’s better to choose Horde than Alliance. Firstly, because they are better, cooler and stuff like that, and secondly, because in Burning Legion most guilds are on the side of the Horde. What’s the downside of this server? Poles … And the fact that earning on it is quite problematic. I can present it to you with a classic meme.
And no, there’s nothing good about low prices.
The second server with relatively more Alliance players is Defias Brotherhood. I’ve heard only one thing about this server: “Second Burning Legion”. I wonder how low the prices are…

Choice of race and class
what to play? There is only one correct answer to this… Play what you want. Interesting, right? There is no point in setting yourself up for pro gaming right away, because it just doesn’t make sense. As a WoW player, I’m not focused on them, I rather play without spin, and for every patch except the last one, I raided the mythic difficulty level (i.e. the highest).
If you don’t know what to choose, the easiest way is to answer one question: who would I like to be in such a world? A dwarf hunter? Here you are. Or maybe a Blood Elf mage? No problem. Pure freedom. Personally, I only changed my character’s gender and race once. From troll to orc. Do you know why? That troll hump annoyed me.

In addition, there is such a thing as a “class trial”. You are born as a 100-level character and you can test it for 8 hours. This will surely help you in your choice.
Basics of the game
The last thing is the basics. If you want to raid and you’re new to the game, it’s a good idea to learn your class first. Firstly, read what exactly the skill does, secondly, look for some tutorials on YouTube (there are a lot of them), see how others play, learn how to rotate. You can also use this website – CLICK!.
Prepare for raids properly. Take food with buffs, buy flasks, pre-potions. If you don’t know what exactly you need to buy, just ask someone in the guild. It will help you for sure.
Okay. I think that’s all you need to know about how to start playing World of Warcraft. I hope I helped. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, I’ll try to answer.
