How to use iFaith to save SHSH Blobs and Create Custom Firmware iOS 5.0.
Hello SamaGame Readers, as we all know Pod2g has the Untethered Jailbreak for iOs 5, it is very important to make sure that we always have the possibility to return to iOs 5. Although work is being done to adapt the Untethered Jailbreak from iOs 5 to iOs 5.0.1 not yet it’s completely safe if they succeed so it’s very important to create the iOs 5.0 .ipsw file so you can return to it at any time.
Because of this, here is a tutorial on how to achieve this, we got this tutorial from modmyi and we translated it and added some steps to make it work correctly for us.
Requirements:

- A Windows computer
- iFaith V 1.4
- iDevice with iOS 5 installed.
- Have the .IPSW file of iOS 5 on our computer
Download iFaith V 1.4
- http://www.filesonic.com/file/4167102914
Tutorial:

We open iFaith and connect our iDevice via USB cable to the computer. The following window will appear and there we must select “OK”
The next step we click on “Dump SHSH Blobs”

A window will appear where it will tell us the following important information:
This version works for iDevices with the following iOs: iOs 3.XX/ 4.0.X /4.1/ 4.2.X /4.3.X / 4.4/ 4.4.1/ 4.4.2/ 4.4.3/ 5.0/ 5.0.1.

It is compatible with the following iDevices: Apple TV 2, iPad 1, iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 2-4 Gen.
In the window we click “Proceed” to continue with the process.
After clicking on “Proceed” the following window will appear where we will select “Let’s Go!”

iFaith will ask us if we are doing the procedure for an Apple TV, in our case we are doing it for an iPod Touch so we select “NO”.
Let’s remember that we must have our iDevice turned on and connected via the USB cable to the computer. In the iFaith window
In the next window that appears, iFaith will ask us to attach our iDevice and then click on “Start”

iFaith will show us the steps to put our team in DFU Mode, if we have problems with the language, iFaith shows the steps in a very graphic way but in case of having problems here are the steps to follow:
- Press the Home and On/Off buttons for 10 seconds
- We release the On / Off button, but keep the Home Button pressed for 10 more seconds.
If we follow the steps correctly to enter the DFU Mode, iFaith will begin a process that will last a couple of minutes, we can check which step we are going in the list that will appear on the left side of iFaith.
After iFaith finishes doing the whole procedure, it will ask us to select a place to save the documents it has created. I recommend making a folder so as not to lose these important files. It is better to save them on the Desktop so as not to lose them later, it is very important to have them backed up on a USB memory or External Disk.
After selecting the place where we want the created files to be saved, the following window will appear reminding us of the importance of SHSH files and that the process has concluded.

Now we have the SHSH Blobs files saved and with this we can create the iOs 5 .ipsw file to put it directly through iTunes without having the annoying 3194 error.
To do this we close and open iFaith again and repeat the first steps until we reach the next window where we select “Build *signed*IPSW w/Blobs.
In the next window we click on “Build IPSW”

In the next window that appears we click on “Browse for SHSH Blobs cache”.
Now we must select the files that we have created and saved previously.
We click on “Browse for the iOs 5.0 (___XX) IPSW
Here a window will appear where we must select the IPSW file that we downloaded at the beginning, we must select the .ipsw file for our iDevice, in this case it is for iPod Touch 4 Gen.
Finally we wait for the program to do the process and we will have the .ipsw of iOs 5 for our iDevice. The name of the file that is created will have a name similar to the following:
- ‘000000G3U553y5_iFaith_iPod_Touch_4-5.0 (9A334)_signed.ipsw’
With this file that we have created, we make sure to always have iOS 5 available to Downgrade or Restore. It is very important to have the iOs 5 because if the jailbreak comes out untethered it will most likely be for the iOs5.
The next tutorial will be on how to Restore/Downgrade to iOS 5
