HTC has announced an upgraded version of its Vive virtual reality headset at CES 2018.
The new HTC Vive Pro has a more ergonomic design, integrates the headphones into the helmet and includes two microphones and two front cameras. The most interesting thing, in any case, is that it expands the resolution by 78%, because its OLED screens will now have a resolution of 2880×1600 pixels.
No release date or price has been announced yet, but you can watch the first promo videos below:
The Taiwanese company has also announced a wireless adapter that will allow you to use both the original HTC Vive and the new HTC Vive Pro without cables. For this it uses Intel’s WiGig technology, with which they promise that there will be no latency problems when leaving the wired connection behind.
As with the Vive Pro, HTC has yet to reveal the release date or price of the new wireless adapter.
