From the looks of it, Microsoft would be planning to extinguish the Xbox Live Gold individual subscription and focus entirely on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which already integrates the service. The information was shared by journalist Brad Sams, in a video published this past Thursday (31).

Xbox Live Gold is currently mandatory to access online multiplayer on Xbox consoles, with the exception of free games, and costs BRL 34.99 per month. The subscription also guarantees access to exclusive discounts in the Microsoft store and monthly free games through Games With Gold – whose April games have already been revealed.

The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which is the most expensive subscription service, costs BRL 44.99 a month and also guarantees access to an ever-updating catalog with more than one hundred titles for download on consoles and PC.

The strategy would be a way to simplify subscription options, but it would also take away the option of paying less for those who only want access to online modes and do not enjoy Game Pass. It is worth mentioning that Microsoft has not yet commented.
