Interview: Responsible for Indoor Games, Tiago Copello discusses the first Game Park in Bahia: “It will be the landmark of events in Salvador”.

Between the 22nd and 24th of November, the city of Salvador, capital of Bahia, will stage the Indoor Games, the first Game Park in the northeast region. In addition to the games fair, it will be possible to enjoy other attractions such as K-pop presentations, cosplays, League of Legends championships and more.

Characters from the LoL scenario like Rafael “Rakin“, the Argentinean Hernan “hastad” and Gustavo “baiano” are some of the attractions confirmed by the event, which will also bring together local personalities and from other niches, such as the Fit Dance group, very popular in the music world.

In an interview with GameHall🇧🇷 Tiago Copello, one of the main people responsible for the event, commented on the challenges of managing a project of this magnitude in Bahia. The manager also spoke about his expectations for the event and exalted its importance for the Bahian scenario as a whole.

“Because it is a Game Park, something never seen in the capital of Bahia, the Indoor Games will be the hallmark of events here in Salvador, with plenty of content and entertainment for participants. All those who go will, for sure, have a positive and unique experience. We are quite optimistic and for sure the result will meet our expectations.”, he said.

For Thiago, the most difficult part of organizing an event like this in Salvador is the lack of spaces to host it. One of the things that makes the Indoor Games even more unique is the place where it will be held: Shopping Salvador. It will be the first time that a Shopping Center in Brazil houses a Game Park. The initiative is a milestone and the organizer believes that the first edition is just a preview of what is to come.

“In Salvador, we have a shortage of spaces to hold events. Salvador Shopping is with us and this makes it possible to carry out all the activities and attractions that we will have with quality. This (event) will work out and with that we will be able to show potential sponsors what happened in the first edition, already aiming at how gigantic the next ones will be. Thanks to the partners and companies that we have been working with for a long time, this project is well structured and with an excellent delivery, it took more than three months working to leave everything one hundred and ten percent”, he addressed.

Copello also believes that the Indoor Games will serve as a stimulus for other organizers to jump into the market and promote more events in the category to move the market in the capital of Bahia.

“With more events, more comparisons are made, and more people want to improve in order to reach the public’s expectations regarding the quality of what is being delivered. If it works, the Indoor will serve as a reference for the events that already exist and for the new ones that will arise. The entire market will be promoted.”, analyzed Thiago.

Closing the interview, Thiago was asked about the electronic sports market in Bahia. The question was due to the two sports attractions that will move the park over the three days. On Friday, November 22nd, the final of the Bahia League of Legends Championship will take place, which will distribute R$2,500 in prize money. On Saturday and Sunday, the event will host the in-person stage of the Desafio do Nordeste, which in turn has a total prize pool of R$5,500.

“I can say that today Bahia is being a reference in the north-northeast axis, and it will continue to evolve more and more. Big companies are already with us in this project (Indoor Games) and we know that by delivering a quality product, it will be natural to attract other partners and sponsors. Who knows, in the future, we won’t receive a CBLoL final? (laughs) ”, she commented.
