iOS 16: 5 of the best news that the update will bring

A few days ago, Apple unveiled the major update to the iOS operating system at WWDC 2022. iOS 16 will bring with it many really interesting news for iPhone. There is no doubt that this fall all users will have a huge change. So here are some of the best new things to brush up on before you head out.

Various options for the Messages app in iOS 16

The integration of this new update brings some changes and improvements to iMessage. Among them is being able to edit, cancel sending and not reading messages, among others. Now with iOS 16, you can edit sent messages or cancel them within a limited period of 15 minutes. A great feature in case of any bugs you want to change right away or need to resolve in some erroneous message.

In addition, Apple provides the “unread” tool, this in case you cannot reply immediately after reading a message. It should be noted that the Edit and Do Not Send tools require the devices involved to be running iOS 16, watchOS 9, macOS 13 Ventura, or iPadOS 16.

The huge update to the Lock Screen on most iPhones

One of the most relevant and highlighted features during the presentation of iOS 16 is the update on the Lock Screen. With it you will have a more personalized approach to your iPhone, being able to edit practically any detail at your convenience.

From choosing the font, color or even to the position of what you find on your lock screen. The multilayer photo tool will allow a character in the lock screen photo to stand out above elements such as the time, leaving the latter behind, giving relevance to your photo.

You will also have the opportunity to add widgets, with iOS 16 being the first update to allow this to be integrated into the Lock Screen. It does not matter if they are widgets owned by the company, they can be external.

Live Text integrated to the videos.

Live Text is an extremely useful tool that was already integrated since iOS 15. The function allows you to select text directly from photos, being phone numbers, addresses, etc.

This time, Apple continues to evolve Live Text, bringing its availability directly to videos. Now you will be able to stop a video at any frame and be able to use Live Text to copy, paste, search and even translate any kind of embedded text.

iOS 16 improves a lot in languages, as this tool will now also have enough recognition to interact with texts in Ukrainian, Korean and Japanese. In addition to being totally accessible and practical, it is enough to touch the texts to perform any action, mentioning again that they are perfectly translatable even if it is about currencies or figures.

iOS 16 also improves Focus Mode

The Concentration Mode or Focus was one of the most relevant functions during the presentation of iOS 15. On this occasion, the improvements once again give it relevance and, above all, greater utility for many users.

Focus Mode improvements include better reach on your iPhone, like being able to interact and find yourself on the Lock Screen. So, for example, you can set a Focus Mode for work, rest or gym and see it detected from your Lock Screen.

The Focus filters option allows certain apps to be limited or completely silenced during a specific Focus Mode. In case you need it, the Focus modes can be activated automatically depending on a predetermined time or places.

Passkeys, security without always having to use your password

This feature is designed to make it easy for the user to log in through the use of their face with Face ID or Touch ID, taking their security fully into account. It has full protection against multiple risks, focusing on creating specific Passkeys and not leaving your iPhone, preventing almost any hack.

The practicality of Passkeys allows you to access your accounts through various devices. The company stated that through this function it seeks to perform cross-logins, so that the user enters its sites and applications even if they are not from Apple.
