Heat, heat and a lot rumor, rumor. The summer news is normally laden with leaks in the face of the strongest launches of the second half of the year and one of the following is Apple mobiles, so it doesn’t hurt to come together. everything we think we know about the iPhone 12.
Until four models It’s talked about for this year, leaving the Pro in half as before and adding a Max model to the base model. Design changes, a new processor, and a lot of other information that adds up enough to put it all together.
The return to angles and the arrival of FullHD
All renders, alleged leaks and information point to the return of a classic: farewell to perfectly hemispherical edges to resume Angles of the iPhone 5s and some previous ones. Something we’ve seen in the 2018 iPad Pro before that would mean a change from what has been seen in the brand since the iPhone 6.
Although this is the front that could receive a long-awaited change: the reduction of the entailler. The well-known notch, which remains stoic despite the trends that have taken hold in Android phones to hide the front camera, would be smaller but it wouldn’t leave out Face ID, which would also recognize faces from larger angles.
For the screens, there was talk that Apple would add a ProMotion panel Like the one we see in some iPads that automatically changes the refresh rate between 60 and 120 Hz. In this way, Apple would enter to compete with its smartphones in a field in which we have seen many Android manufacturers enter since awhile seeing refresh rates of 90 and 120Hz even in the midrange, albeit in a similar fashion to what we’ve seen in the Galaxy Note 20 and adaptive frequency.
At the level of the diagonals, we see that there are four models, with screens ranging from 5.4 inches for the smallest to 6.7 inches for the iPhone 12 Pro Max. And to emphasize: the jump to FullHD for everyone (and also the OLED).
- iPhone 12: 5.4 inch screen, 2340 x 1080 pixel resolution, 475 dpi, 60Hz.
- iPhone 12 Max: 6.4 display, 2532 x 1170 pixel resolution, 460 dpi, 60Hz.
- iPhone 12 Pro: 6.1 inch display, 2532 x 1170 pixel resolution, 460 dpi, 120Hz.
- iPhone 12 Pro Max: 6.7-inch display, 2778 x 1284 pixel resolution, 458 dpi, 120 Hz.
And the colors? Last year the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max released a dark green tone and the iPhone 11 followed in the wake of the iPhone XR with slightly bolder colors, and what’s expected for these iPhones. 12 is that there is a model in navy blue. Also that the back is kept with the glass that we saw in the 2019 iPhone, matte and more resistant to fingerprints.
More power and 5G
Historically, newer iPhone models have released a processor and for these the replacement of the Apple A13 Bionic is expected, also included in the iPhone SE (2020), the Apple A14 Bionic. From this processor, it is said that Apple would make the leap to 5 nanometers and even have a 5G modem from Qualcomm.
A chip built by TSMC that is apparently capable of 40% improvement in raw power of Apple A13 processor and an increase in graphics processing power of 50%. These are some pretty stark numbers that are in a state of rumor at the moment, we’ll see if they end up showing up in the slides for this year’s presentation.
The iPhone 12 (probably the Pro) will apparently hit 6GB of RAM. And referring to battery, a 4,400 mAh was noted for the Max, although Forbes gave the following figures:
- IPhone 12 (A2471): 2227 mAh.
- iPhone 12 Max (A2431): 2775 mAh.
- iPhone 12 Pro (A2431): 2775 mAh.
- iPhone 12 Pro Max (A2466): 3 687 mAh.
As for the camera, the improvements are supposed to focus on low-light photography with reduced noise, better image stabilization and faster autofocus. It is even said that the new iPhones will integrate the LiDAR that the iPad Pro 2020 has incorporated to improve the accuracy of focus and distance to objects and that optical zoom will change to 3x.
In October and with a smaller box
There are two rumors that could mean another change for users than for mobile: the non-inclusion of headphones and charger.
What is made clear is that the new iPhones would arrive in October, after the brand’s confirmation that they would be delayed from the usual launch in September. Well-known escapee Jon Prosser points to an event 12 october and bookings start the same week, so shipments will take place in October for the iPhone 12 and in November for the Pro.
