iPhone 7 and Apple Watch Series 2 announced.
In this Wait a lot of news about Apple. To get into that mood, De Wacht has opened a can of apple cider and starts to write while smacking. Besides Apple also news about the Humble Bundle, backwards compatible games for Xbox One and a movie about the water in Sea of Thieves. Enjoy!
iPhone 7 officially announced
The real fanboys have of course been glued to their screens all evening with a hard branch and tear marks of happiness on their cheeks. For the rest of the people, the Guard wanted to list the most important news about the new machine from Apple. Because no matter how you look at it, the new iPhone will of course immediately turn the older models into a discarded clock house. The two features that are most eye-catching, Apple also placed big on Twitter. The phone is rocking completely new cameras that should provide razor-sharp images. The Plus model even has a dual camera on the back of the device. Two cameras that together should enable even more functions and sharpness.
In addition, the new iPhone is water and dust resistant. Not that Apple worshipers would ever let their blessed devices come close to any substance not blessed by Steve Jobs, but the idea is fun. Furthermore, a longer battery life is an important point for improvement. A pity is the fact that the iPhone 7 no longer uses the 3.5mm connection for headphones. You will have to make do with Lightning earbuds or devices that are controlled via bluetooth. iPhone 7 will be available for pre-order on September 9, and will be available in the first countries from September 16. By the way, the Netherlands is part of that first wave. This unit will cost about $ 650.
Apple Watch Series 2 is also present
At the same time as the new iPhone, the Apple Watch 2 will also go on sale. This is also waterproof, so you can swim with it, for example. The emphasis in this series will be much more on sports at all. This way the Series 2 gets its own GPS reception. This makes it possible to do more with your watch without lugging a phone. Ideal for running or cycling! Apple is also entering into a partnership with Nike for this product. In addition to specific sports-oriented apps, there will also be a Nike + variant of the Series 2. This will include a special strap that should be better suited for sports. The new Watch, like the original, will be available in different models. The price tag starts at $ 369.
Pokemon Go on Apple Watch
We continue with the news about Apple. This time in combination with Pokémon Go. Where we thought that Niantic would only support its own portable Pokémon Go accessory, they now appear to involve Apple in the party. As flashy as it may be to walk around with a cut-up Livestrong strap with a Pokéball on it, it is nice to know that smartwatch owners will soon also be able to get started with GO on their wrist computer. The extension for the Apple Watch shows exactly what you expect from a Pokémon Go tool. You can see which monsters are in the area, how many steps you still have to go for your current egg and of course an alarm function when you encounter a wild Pokémon. Exactly when this will be possible remains to be known. However, it has already been said that it should be available for the holidays.
Mario on IOS
Okay the last one about Apple then. * Pour back the last sip of cider *. Mario is coming to iOS, and very soon! All of us Miyamoto unexpectedly appeared as a piranha plant from a tube at the Apple party. Grinning and with self-made sound effects, he spoke enthusiastically about the new Mario game that will soon be released for IOS. It will not be a traditional Mario platformer, but a runner. The plumber will therefore run from left to right of his own accord, and as a player you only have to jump at the right moments or perform other actions. Miyamoto didn’t go very deep into the depths, but at least the game looks slick! Incidentally, it will not be playable for free, but can be rake in for a small amount. In time, Nintendo also wants to release this game for Android. Bring it on!
New Humble Bundle mainly focused on creation
Game design enthusiasts will certainly not complain at the sight of the new Humble Bundle. The highlight of the package this time around is nothing less than GameMaker Studio Pro! With the Humble Bundle you as a customer pay an amount of your choice. So you base the price of what you get on what you think it is worth. So the only thing holding you back is your conscience. If you can top the average bid of $ 12.17, you even get access to the HTML 5 module for the tool. With a bid of more than $ 15, you also get support for Android, IOS and Windows UWP. Oh yes, in addition to GameMaker Studio Pro you also get the following games in the package: Uncanny Valley, Cook, Serve, Delicious, INK, Extreme Burger Defense, Freeway Mutant, Shep Hard and Angry Chicken: Egg Madness. This is a typically delicious deal, as we’ve come to expect from the Humble Bundle. The Guard can’t… uh… wait.
More ‘rock hard’ games backwards compatible for Xbox One
It may have been nearly a month since this same Guard came out with the news of three new Xbox 360 games that were finally retroactively playable on the One.
The Guard told someone last week that his biggest dream was to ever play Tour de France 2009 on Xbox One again.
Admittedly, the Guard was somewhat cynical at the time. He is now. Just take a look at the next pile of steamy mediocrity waiting to soil the Xbox One. DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue, Gatling Gears and fan favorite Bejeweled 3 are all fully playable on the One from now on. To poke someone for a hard game of Bejeweled? Who has to box the Guard into their X to get decent old games to the new console? By the way, Deathspank is a comic RPG from Monkey Island’s spiritual father, so the Guard can’t complain about that. Gatling Gears is not a very special top-down shooter. Cowards, Microsoft. Cowards …
New action game from Square Enix?
Not much is known about it, but the rumor machine starts to get going right away. Square Enix has announced that it will release a new, action-oriented title at the Tokyo Game Show next week. Apart from this announcement, the developer has not yet released a word about the new game, except that in addition to the announcement, there will also be a stage event for the game. With such an announcement, it looks like Square is trying to push a new showpiece. We will see…
New Inn-side Story for Sea of Thieves
Man, what’s the point of the Guard in Sea of Thieves. Granted, his fondness for pirates has at least as much to do with this as the game itself, but that aside. Via Inn-side Stories (kudos for the pun), Rare gives fans from the very beginning a glimpse into the game. The third of these films has just gone live, and the Guard has been enjoying themselves. This episode is about the water features that the game has. A pirate game that mainly takes place at sea is of course not possible without super detailed water! The makers show how they ensure that the water behaves the same for all online players who meet each other. In addition, they offer us a glimpse behind the scenes when creating effects for the water and the realization of the physics. Very cool to see! So here:
If you are hearing about the Inn-side Stories for the first time, be sure to check the first two.
So much for this edition. The Guard has had it for tonight. Happy Thursday!
