iPhone SE 2020 vs iPhone XR – Comparison.
Contents
After almost a year of rumors and leaks, the long-awaited iPhone SE 2020, also called the ‘low-cost iPhone’, has finally arrived. This new device shares the aesthetic features of the iPhone 8, such as the 4.7-inch screen and Touch ID. Internally, it includes the powerful A13 Bionic chip, which it shares with its older brothers, the iPhone 11.
iPhone SE 2020: its A13 Bionic chip, a safe bet
The biggest surprise in the presentation of this new iPhone has undoubtedly been the inclusion of the A13 Bionic chip. According to Apple, this chip is 20 percent faster and 30 percent more efficient than its predecessor, the A12 Bionic chip. This began to be included in the iPhone XR. Therefore, in this section there is a clear winner, the new iPhone SE 2020.

The screen, a great decision
In this aspect, if there is a clear difference in terms of size, the 6.1-inch screen of the iPhone XR is much larger than that of the new iPhone SE, 4.7 inches. Both displays share the same IPS LCD technology with 326 pixels per inch, True Tone technology, 625 nits peak brightness, 1,400:1 contrast ratio, and P3 color gamut support. If what we like is watching series and videos on the phone, the best decision is the iPhone XR.
Touch ID or Face ID
The new iPhone SE recovers the well-known Touch ID, which is inherited from the iPhone 8, while the iPhone XR uses Apple’s advanced facial recognition system, Face ID. According to Apple, the probability that a random person could unlock your iPhone, using Touch ID technology, was 1 in 50,000. On the other hand, the probability of failure of Face ID is 1 in 1,000,000. However, both ways of unlocking are very safe, so this is a clearly personal decision.

The battery, difference in hours
In this regard, the new iPhone SE has not improved at all compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 8. We are looking at a duration of 13 hours for video playback and 40 hours for audio playback. The iPhone XR improves on the iPhone SE’s records, getting 16 hours of video playback and 65 hours of audio playback. If battery life is a key decision when buying a terminal, the iPhone XR is your phone.
Rear camera and connectivity
Both iPhones are equipped with a 12-megapixel wide-angle rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture. As for the installed sensors, the iPhone XR has a newer sensor, with 1.4µm pixels and larger Focus Pixels. However, the iPhone SE has the same sensor as the iPhone 8. On the other hand, the new iPhone SE benefits from the new image processing of the A13 Bionic chip, so the difference between the cameras is probably minimal.

In terms of connectivity, both devices have LTE and Wi-Fi, although the iPhone SE has faster speeds in both connections and a clear improvement in Wi-Fi, as it is compatible with Wi-Fi 6. Wi-Fi 6 offers faster speeds, higher network capacity, higher power efficiency, and lower latency.
price and colors
The new iPhone SE starts at €489, with 64 GB storage and is available in white, red and black. The iPhone XR is available from €709 with the same storage, although the range of colors is wider, adding yellow, coral and blue. If you need more storage, the iPhone SE can expand its capacity up to 256 GB and the iPhone XR up to 128 GB.

conclusion
We are facing very similar terminals, so when choosing which one to buy, we will be faced with a difficult decision. If what we need is a powerful phone, our decision is the new iPhone SE, but if, on the contrary, we prefer a longer battery life and a larger screen, the iPhone XR is yours.
