Kazuya Mishima joins the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster.
Revenge is said to be a dish best served cold, but its flavor is enhanced even more in theater scenes! Super Smash Bros Ultimate! On June 30, the vengeful Kazuya Mishima, from the Tekken fighting game series, joins the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster for Nintendo Switch as part of the “Contender Pack 10” downloadable content, which also includes a new stage and a selection of music tracks from the long-running Tekken franchise.
In the video presentation Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – Fight with Kazuya, Masahiro Sakurai, the director of the Super Smash Bros. series, showed in detail the attacks of the new fighter, as well as the new stage: Mishima Dojo.
The Contender Pack 10 is part of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Fighters Pass Vol. 2, which also includes ARMS’ Min Min; Steve and Alex from Minecraft; Sephiroth, from the FINAL FANTASY VII series; Pyra and Mythra, from Xenoblade Chronicles 2; and an unannounced fighter that will be available throughout this year. The Challenger Pack 10 can also be purchased separately.

About Kazuya Mishima
Since making his debut over 25 years ago in the original Tekken installment, Kazuya Mishima has become one of the best-known faces in this long-running fighting game series. Now, Kazuya makes the leap from the stages of Tekken, where players must measure the distance between characters and know where to hit in a 3D space, to the battlefields of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, where the key is to attack the rival taking advantage of unevenness and distances in a 2D space. Due to this disparity in spatial dimensions, Kazuya displays a set of special abilities in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that differ from the ones he uses in Tekken.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Kazuya’s main attacks are similar to Tekken’s, but in order for him to go the extra mile and utilize the Super Smash Bros. series’ signature smash and special attacks, he has to use the Devil Gene. In later games in the Tekken series, Kazuya can transform into a powerful winged demon. Players will notice that Kazuya’s Devil Gene is activated to execute various jumps, smash attacks, and special attacks in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Players will receive a new scenario with the Challenger Pack 10: Mishima Dojo. It is the dojo of the Mishima family, and it is owned by Heihachi, Kazuya’s father. This dojo is hermetically sealed, but the walls and ceiling can be broken with powerful attacks to make the stage more dangerous. Mishima Dojo does not have floating platforms, so it is a stage designed for fighting on the ground, unlike many other stages in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It will be necessary to resort to new strategies when fighting in it.
Upon downloading the Challenger Pack 10, players will also receive 39 music tracks from the Tekken series, containing a mix of songs from old and recent games in the franchise. In addition, the following new paid costumes for Mii fighters will also go on sale on the day of the Kazuya Mishima release: Shantae, Lloyd Irving, Dante, and the Dragonborn.

Masahiro Sakurai has also announced a new ARMS Super Smash Bros. Min Min amiibo, which will be available for purchase at select retailers beginning in 2022.
