With an early access period for players who have purchased the most expensive editions or EA Play Pro subscribers who starts this week, there are many users who are already thinking about their Ultimate Team team. The most popular game mode returns in the first edition of the title after the divorce with FIFA and it does so with a few changes. Among them, one that has not depended on the developers. Generating controversy both for reasons and forms, the Saudi Professional League aims to position itself as one of the most attractive worldwide.

A competitive Saudi Pro League team on EA Sports FC?

Saudi football has become interesting to some fans for a very simple reason: they have signed a handful of big stars from other competitions. Thus they increased the media pull of the league and, as far as we are concerned, also they made it more interesting for the Ultimate Team from EA Sports FC 24. Times may have changed and Cristiano Ronaldo or Neymar are not the most prominent figures in world football. However, they have millions of fans around the world who may have thought about using them in this ‘FIFA 24’. For them, yes, we have bad news.

The cards of these elite footballers will be accessible in the sense that obtaining them will be much easier. However, that will only be consequence of its limited usefulness. Now that we know the averages of all the players in the Saudi Pro League and have many detailed details about their statistics, we can come to rough conclusions about their performance on the field. A performance that, although pending to see how the ‘meta’ evolves, points insufficient to carry out a starting eleven formed exclusively by players from the competition on the day of departure of the game.

What is the problem of the Saudi League? EA Sports FC 24 players would be in luck if there was only one. Let’s start with the obvious: the number of great players becomes insufficient to create a guaranteed starting eleven. It is true that in the real world a team with the best in the league would be more than competitive. However, the detailed attributes of the cards make them have a poor performance in the video game. Similar circumstances are repeated in many players in the Saudi league who could have formed a great starting eleven to create a competitive Ultimate Team team. This possibility, especially for groups formed with English or Spanish competitions, raises the average competitive level and makes alternative options even more difficult to make work.

In that sense I am looking for a change and, although there are many things I don’t like about the Saudi league, I may end up creating a squad for an alternative competition.
