Although the lack of a release date for Baldur’s Gate 3 on Microsoft consoles had raised alarm bells for more than one fan of the RPG genre, it seems that Larian Studios has found a way to turn the situation around. It has been Swen Vincke, director of the delivery, who has given the good news through his Twitter account: “Super happy to confirm that, after having a meeting yesterday with Phil Spencer, we have found a solution that allows us to carry Baldur’s Gate 3 to Xbox gamers this same yearsomething we’ve been working on for quite some time.”

“All the improvements will be there, with split-screen co-op on Xbox Series X. Xbox Series S will not have split-screen cooperativebut it will also include cross-save to maintain progress between Steam and Xbox Series”, ends Vincke’s short thread on Twitter. In this way, Xbox Series S will sacrifice one of the game modes so that Baldur’s Gate 3 can be available to users from Microsoft this year.
