Right now, Gerighty is acting as creative director on Star Wars Outlaws, but his work has also extended to the shooter saga as deputy director on The Division and creative director on The Division 2. Therefore, and as the French developer explains in an official statement, it is an essential professional for the future of the franchise.

“Julian Gerighty will return to the brand he helped power the world. Gerighty has been named Executive producer for The Division Brand, and will make the change as soon as Star Wars Outlaws – a game he is currently supervising as Creative Director – has been released,” explains Ubisoft. The message continues by recalling the professional’s first adventures in the French offices, and continues to confirm the future development of the new shooter installment: “Now, he is setting his sights on Tom Clancy’s The Division 3as well as a plethora of projects set in The Division universe, including the mobile game Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence, and the action-survival shooter Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland.”

What will happen to The Division 2?

Everything indicates that Ubisoft will take a while to share more news about The Division 3, but its statement already ensures that the plans of the creative director of Star Wars Outlaws involve supervising the previous installment of the shooter saga: “A central objective of Gerighty is to build a team for Tom Clancy’s The Division 3, which will be led by Massive Entertainment, while ensuring that Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 remains well maintained. Beyond this, their focus will be on solidifying the brand identity.”

Gerighty, for his part, adds that “we can have more than 40 million players, but The Division is still in its early stages as a franchise.
