LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will not take advantage of all PS5 features at launch.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga may even have versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, however, these versions do not take full advantage of the new generation consoles.

Dawn McDiarmid, lead designer at TT Games, told Official PlayStation UK Magazine (via Brickfanatics) that while the game takes advantage of the PS5’s ultra-fast SSD, it will not be supported at launch for other things like Ray Tracing, 3D Audio and Dualsense.

Dawn McDiarmid’s statements are specific to the PS5 version, but we speculate that the same must be true for the Xbox Series versions. Apparently, there was not enough time to optimize the game for new generation consoles, even with the one registered in 2020.

From a more positive perspective, the game will feature more than 300 playable characters – including the hilarious Babu Frik – 23 planets and 28 unique locations. Included are the nine main films in the Star Wars saga.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is slated for Spring 2021.
