In what remained as a virtual MWC, Lenovo presented a batch of ThinkPad T, X and L and now these are complemented by two new family members. These are laptops Lenovo ThinkPad E14 et E15, aimed at meeting the needs of the workplace in general, although better designed for management in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The manufacturer is expanding this booming (forced) teleworking series with two new models that can adapt to an average user profile. Equipped with AMD Ryzen 4000 processors and Radeon graphics, these ThinkPads retain a design that is probably familiar to us, including its beloved and characteristic trackpoint.
Lenovo explains that the idea is that these new models fully meet today’s telecommuting needs, both in design and hardware. Speaking of the first, the screen of the new E14 and E15 enjoy 85% of the foreheadbecause the top and side frames are quite thin, and the bottom frame is slightly wider.
The brand talks about the durability of the chassis after passing twelve Mil-Spec tests, promising long-term reliability. Although the main change in these laptops is that they continue to integrate ** AMD Ryzen processors up to 74700U **, with the option of ATI Radeon graphics cards.
For the first time, in addition, this series includes a fingerprint reader and there is an option to integrate an optional infrared camera. The reader acts as a power button, allowing you to turn on the device and log in with the same gesture.
Compared with this infrared camera, it has Mirametrix Glance technology, which adds the function of Lock the laptop automatically if the user walks away. And in terms of software, there are other new features like Snap Window and Smart Pointer functions, which focus on improving the screen layout.
While these are slightly more basic setups than we’ve seen in some February ThinkPads, we’re seeing them in the E14 and E15. Harman speakers with Dolby Audio, as well as dual and far field microphones. And in terms of connectivity, they support optional WiFi 6.
