When the screen is locked, unauthorized people cannot access your data as easily. We show how it works in Windows, MacOS, iPhone and Android.

Lock screen in Windows (key combination)

Press the buttons Windows + Lto lock the screen. You can easily remember the key combination because the “L” stands for “Lock”, in German: “close” or “Schloss”. Alternatively, press Ctrl + Alt + Del and chooses Lock the computer out of. Automatically lock screen

To automatically lock the screen after a certain time, do this in Windows 10:

Right-click on a free area of the desktop and select Adjust Select the menu item on the left Lock screen and click on the lettering at the bottom right Screen saver settings

In the window Screen saver settings puts a checkmark next to it Login page upon reactivation.You can see it on the left waiting period enter after how many minutes the screen should be locked automatically.

Lock screen: MacOS

To lock the screen on Mac OS X, do the following:

Opens Keychain Access. You can find them at Programs, utilities and Settings.Check the box Keychain status show in the menu bar. A lock symbol will now appear in your menu bar. Click on the lock symbol and select the entry Screen to lock the screen.

As with Windows, you first have to enter your password when the screen is locked in order to continue working on the Mac.

iPhone: Lock screen

The iPhone screen can also be locked automatically:

Opens the Settings.Tap Generally and up Auto lockSets the desired period of time to activate the automatic screen lock. To deactivate them, enter Never on.Press the Home buttonto complete the process.

A notice: Under Generally you can have one too Code lock with which you then have to unlock your iPhone in order to use it.

Android smartphone: lock screen

In Android, the procedure is similar to set up a screen lock:

Opens the Settings section Security You will usually find the settings for your display lock. There you can set after how many minutes the screen should be locked. Activate the option On/Off locks deviceto lock the screen immediately when you turn off the display using the power button.
