Loki | Meet the new variant of the God of Mischief, Lady Loki!.
Loki – Second episode of the series features the Randy variant!
Dear readers, allow me to bring you the 2nd episode of the series Loki, released this Wednesday (16) came to blow our heads with crazy theories and revelations. The series is going to great lengths to show us the various variants of the God of Mischief and what they are capable of doing to harm the sacred timeline if they are not “reset”.
Well, at the beginning of the episode, Loki meets with the soldiers of the Temporal Variation Agency to investigate timeline interference at a Renaissance Fair. At this fair, to the sound of Bonnie Tyler – Holding Out For A Hero, a series of murders of the other AVT agents takes place.
Meanwhile, our God of Lies receives information from the mission and who is the target. However, this is one of the most important scenes, and so I ask your attention, Loki, he begins to see several variants of him through a hologram, and among these variants, we even have a Loki Hulk, yes, that’s right, Loki Hulk!
However, in these variants, in addition to the “Holki” variant (Hulk+Loki), we see Loki with visuals more drawn to Norse mythology. In others, he wears more casual clothes.
Therefore, the episode works on the idea of apocalyptic events and how this is crucial to the plans of the Variant. And because of that we have several mentions and references to the Ragnarok, the great “twilight of the gods” for the Norse, where all Asgard is devastated, starting a new historical cycle. During the episode, Loki is shown seeing some documents that report this catastrophic event.
However, the entire episode is loaded with references to important characters for this end of the world and their actions. Loki at one point quotes an Asgardian saying about a wolf – which is perhaps a reference to the Fenris Wolf. He also mentions surtur destroying the Golden Kingdom. Both mentioned characters appeared in Thor: Ragnarok.
However, another reference to the events of Thor: Ragnarok happens at the moment Loki try to explain the furniture your crazy theory that Variant is using the apocalyptic events to hide, that is, at that moment that needs some attention, because the scene itself will already hold all the attention, considering that it is a mix of complexity on the subject, but has refinements of humor, which makes it totally enjoyable to watch.
Loki, picks up Mobius’ salad and begins to explain his theory, throwing salt, pepper, yogurt, that the timelines that will be or have been destroyed will not have any reflections if a variant appears and do whatever you want in that line, in view of , that it will be destroyed anyway, that is, the variants can hide in the apocalyptic lines and AVT will not even dream that they will be there, I explained briefly, but I recommend my friends, to you to watch, because it is worth it, and at the end, the agent totally disappointed that Loki literally made the ragnarok in his salad, until he praises the logic of the God of cheating.
During the explanation Loki talks about the idea of “throwing the Hulk gives Bifrost“, and here it’s interesting, because, this brings us directly to the scene from the third God of Thunder movie, where both the God of Mischief and the Emerald Goliath fight side by side on top of the Rainbow Bridge.
Later in the episode, the agents of the Temporal Variation Agency are sent to investigate a place where the Variant could be supposed to be hiding. The team will stop at Roxxcart, a market that had already appeared in several trailers and promotional materials for the series. And here, ladies and gentlemen, where the magic happens, it is in this market that the climax of the episode unfolds and the God of Mischief discovers which version of himself he is facing.
Along these lines, the market evidently belongs to the roxxon, one of the most important companies in the Marvel stories.
Consequently, as one of Marvel’s most important companies, Roxxon ends up being a rival to Stark Industries, being giants in various fields, from warfare to oil extraction. And in this future of 2050, we can see that they gain even more prominence, opening their own supermarket chains around the world.
But who is this new variant?
Finally, at the end of the episode, after several events, dialogues, we find out what the Variant that is making coordinated attacks on the agents of the AVT, stealing the reset charges and preparing a plan to end the organization’s supremacy. It is a female version of Loki, which makes direct reference to the lady loki of the comics – although this version is just called The Variant or as she prefers to be called herself, Randy.
However, it is important to point out that, in the dubbing credits of the series in Spain, the character is being credited as Sylvie, and oddly enough there is a villain in the comics with that name; a normal Oklahoma girl who gains magical gifts from her own Loki, transforming into the new enchanter. Perhaps this is the indication that this version is not yet the final antagonist of the series.
Various Nexus events
And soon after revealing himself to the Loki, Randy, reveals his Machiavellian plan, which is to attract the attention of the AVT to drop the bombs (actually, the reset charges) at various locations in time, thus causing variations that can no longer be reversed as easily. And when we get back to AVT headquarters, we can get a sense of the problem.
AVT employees, concerned about the triggering of various branches in the Sacred Timeline, and there we can see mentions of several important planets in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, such as ego, the Living Planet; hello (the headquarters of the Kree); Xandar (the base of Tropa Nova); Titan (the moon where Thanos was born); Sakaar and Vomit (where the Soul Gem was).
And you, leave in the comments what you think of this amazing episode of the Disney + series.
