The developer of Prey and Dishonored is working on a new game, Outriders has been delayed to April 1, Borat visits Night City from Cyberpunk 2077 and more in this brand new Night Watch!
So how are you doing in this first full week of the new year? Can you keep it up? Fortunately, the weekend is getting closer. And of course we have another Night Watch to make your life a little more pleasant. Let’s go!

Makers Prey and Dishonored are working on a mysterious new game
Arkane Studios has become an established name in the industry. Thanks to games like Dishonored and Prey, they have built a strong reputation. The company has been working on Deathloop for a while now, which should appear on consoles exclusively on PlayStation 5 later this year.
But it doesn’t stop there: Arkane Austin is working on another mystery-shrouded game. In an interview with the Spanish site Vandal, director Harvey Smith says after four years of working at Arkane Lyon on Dishonored 2, that he has returned to Austin to develop a new game there. It’s about ‘something else that I make together with the men behind Dishonored and Prey’. To be clear: Deathloop is made by that other Arkane studio in Lyon.

In September last year, a vacancy from the developer had already come online, in which people were searched for an ‘immersive sim’. Probably that is the game that Smith – also known from games like Deus Ex and Area 51 – is working on. Good news for people who love Arkane’s games! Would it be a sequel to Dishonored or Prey, or a completely new game?
Incidentally, Smith said that since the news came out that Microsoft will take over parent company Zenimax, nothing has changed within Arkane. “It would be very difficult to find a better partner for Bethesda than Microsoft. They fit together perfectly. ‘

Outriders postponed to April 1
No, it’s not a joke: Square Enix has postponed Outriders and the game is now out on April 1st. The developer needs a little more time to fine-tune the game. Outriders should have been released on February 2, but that party is canceled. A free demo will be released on February 25 in which players can experience the first few hours of the game.
According to the creators of the game, for a completely new IP, it is important that players can experience the game before release, so that they can find out if it is something they like. The demo can be played alone or in co-op. Any progress made will be carried over to the final version if you decide to purchase it on or after release.

So please be patient. Outriders was developed by People Can Fly, known for Bulletstorm and Gears of War: Judgment. In-game players can create their own ‘Outrider’ and search for the source of a mysterious signal. In total, the game can be played with three players at the same time. The game appears on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One and PC.
DMR 14 grain for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War available now
Last night, Raven Software rolled out an update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which adjusts the balance of various weapons. It was previously known that the DMR 14 was too strong and would be scaled down, and that’s what happened with this one. The weapon deals less damage on headshots and has more recoil. The Type 63, Mac-10 and dual pistols have also been made slightly less powerful. Hopefully the multiplayer is now a bit more balanced!
None other than Borat pays a visit to Night City in this Cyberpunk 2077 spoof
If you think Cyberpunk 2077 is pretty much out of memed, it’s still going on. But this meme, in which the fictional character Borat from the eponymous films and the Ali G show visits Night City, can appreciate the Guard again.

The video was already circulating at the end of last year (at the end of last year … that sounds more intense than it is!), But the Guard could not find it anywhere on PU. Otherwise, he will soon be corrected by those sweet PU visitors in the comments!
The King of Fighters 15 reveal suddenly delayed
Last night, The King of Fighters 15, the latest installment in the long-running fighting series, should have been revealed in a trailer. This had been planned since the beginning of December … but finally the unveiling was suddenly postponed tonight. Publisher SNK did not give a clear reason, but apologizes via Twitter.
A first look at Season Pass 3 for Samuari Shodown was also planned during the reveal. That too was canceled. It is not yet known when all this will be revealed.

At the end of last year, a video was released in which the developers revealed three characters from The King of Fighters 15: Kyo, Shun’ei and Benimaru. That video can be seen again below.
Nintendo employees were doubled over by Microsoft’s proposal to acquire Nintendo
It has been well known for a long time that Microsoft was in talks with Nintendo about a possible takeover at the beginning of this century. However, a new article from Bloomberg reviewing the history of the Xbox brand provides some more details about this attempt.
Microsoft was about to release the first Xbox, and Nintendo was preparing for the GameCube launch. In the article, Kevin Bachus and Bob McBreen – both members of the original Xbox team – look back on their visit to Nintendo. Bachus: ‘Steve (Ballmer, then CEO of Microsoft) let us meet with Nintendo to see if they wanted to be bought. They laughed. Imagine someone laughing at you for an hour. That is how the meeting went more or less. ‘
McBreen reports that in January 2000, Nintendo employees stopped by the Microsoft building to discuss a possible partnership. ‘We gave all the technical specifications of the Xbox. Our pitch was that their hardware smelled, and it did when compared to the PlayStation. The idea was this: you’re better at making games with Mario and stuff. Why don’t you let us make the hardware? But it was not to be. ‘

Nintendo has opened the English-language teaser site for the upcoming Switch game Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury’s. There you can learn a bit more about the game … although for the time being it is information that was already known. We know the game is coming to Switch on February 12th and is a port of the Wii U game with some extras … but we’ll have to wait for more details.
Don’t feel like visiting the site but do you want to know everything about the site? GameXplain explores the site in the video below!
Crytek is working on a sandbox shooter
Crysis and Hunt: Showdown developer Crytek may be working on a sandbox first-person shooter. WCCFTech came across a vacancy for the studio’s Frankfurt office, looking for a game designer who ‘has a deep passion for games, preferably FPS sandbox games’.

And with that information we have to do it for now. It could be a completely new IP or a new Crysis game. Earlier this year, a remaster of the first Crysis was released on PC and consoles.
