The MediaMarkt BTW Weg Ermee promotion is about to start. From Monday January 24 to Sunday January 30, 2022 you will receive a 17.3% discount on a very large part of the range.

In recent years we have seen a lot of criticism about the MediaMarkt VAT campaign. For example, the retailer would slowly increase its prices in the weeks before the promotion, but that does not always appear to be the case. Because of the dynamic price system, it can happen that prices in a period are higher or lower than at the moment. This can be caused, among other things, by a promotion that has ended or a product that is offered by a competitor for a higher price.

When will the promotion start?
The VAT promotion will start on Monday 24 January in the MediaMarkt webshop. The MediaMarkt’s BTW Weg Ermee campaign takes place on the following days:

How is the discount calculated?
In the Netherlands, VAT has to be paid and that is no different during the MediaMarkt VAT promotion. To calculate the discount, use the following calculation: €1210 x 100 = 121000 -> divide by 121 = €1000. So you get a discount of €210, which comes down to a percentage of 17.36.
Can I buy a product before the promotion and then claim the difference back?
Unlike previous promotions, it is not possible to request a refund if you have purchased a product before the VAT promotion.

Which products are excluded?
As in previous years, several categories are excluded.
- Participating categories: TVs, audio, photo, video & drones, smartphones, smartwatches, desktops, laptops, tablets & e-readers, monitors & printers, home appliances, kitchen appliances, personal care, smart home.
- Excluded categories: Apple, Dyson, accessories, music, film, software, games, console hardware & accessories, storage, Power Service and insurance, gift cards and credit cards.
Are the cashback promotions of manufacturers also valid?
During the Media Markt VAT promotion, you can simply use current cashback promotions from manufacturers.
