Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak will release on June 30, 2022.
During a digital Monster Hunter event, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto today revealed a new trailer for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the massive expansion of the popular and award-winning Monster Hunter Rise. The enchanting new trailer gives viewers a glimpse of the new story, the new Elgado Outpost hub, the challenging new monsters, and the exciting new skills players can learn after completing the main game’s story. The digital event also gave viewers a first, in-depth look at some of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak’s content.
In addition, it was announced that this expansion will be released for Nintendo Switch on June 30, 2022, and will be available for pre-orders starting today.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak version details
In addition to the digital-only Standard Edition of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, a special
Deluxe Edition of the massive expansion, including bonus content such as layered armor sets,
gestures and hairstyles. Hunters who want to start their journey in Kamura can opt for the Monster
Hunter Rise + Sunbreak set as physical* or digital version for Nintendo Switch. This set includes both
the Standard Edition of Monster Hunter Rise as the massive Sunbreak expansion (it will be released as
digital voucher included with the physical version).
Players who purchase a version of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak early enough will receive the
layered armor sets “Loyal Dog” and “Striped Cat” for their Palamute and Palico companions. At the
launch, Nintendo Switch players will also be able to enjoy three new Malzeno-inspired amiibo
that unlock special layered armor for their hunter, Palamute and Palico
About the story of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak follows Kamura Village’s heroic defense against the
Rampage that Monster Hunter Rise ended with. The news about the survival of the village
inspires brave knight Dame Fiorayne to ask the village for help for his own kingdom.
Hunters brave enough to heed this call can leave for the harbor
from Elgado Outpost. In this bustling port city, there is not only the laboratory that
investigates the monster attacks that plague the kingdom, but also the
command post tasked with restoring peace to the empire. Here players are introduced to many
new characters including Admiral Galleus, the commander of the Knights of the Royal Order, the
mad scientist Bahari, the blacksmith Minayle, the merchant Oboro and the quest provider Chichae.
These helpful allies help Hunters craft new gear for the coming dangers
to brave. In addition, they provide instructions to release powerful new Wirebug techniques
can carry.
The threat that has come to the kingdom is all about the Three Lords, mighty ones
creatures inspired by many Western horror stories. Like the newly revealed Garangolm, the
chilling Fanged Wyvern Lunagaron, and the Elder Dragon Malzeno. Besides this nightmarish
enemies, new variants of monsters and returning favorites like Blood Orange appear
Bishaten and the mighty Astalos to challenge hunters like never before on the added Master
Rank quest level. Investigations into the behavior of the Three Lords take hunters all over the kingdom
to new locations, including the newly revealed Citadel. Characteristic of this new location are the
snow-capped peaks and lush forests teeming with life found only on these
location occurs. In the center of this vast region stands an abandoned fortress that now serves as a fortress
