More animations with Batman in the lead role are coming.

The virtual DC FanDome convention that took place last weekend aroused a lot of excitement among people eagerly awaiting films based on comics from DC publishing. During the event, we could see trailers and teasers of such productions as Wonder Woman 1984, The Batman, The Suicide Squad by James Gunn or Black Adam with Dwayne Johnson in the lead role. However, these are only acting titles, and it should not be forgotten that the DC universe is also famous for its numerous animated adaptations prepared by Warner Bros. Animation. Next year promises to be very good for their fans. Well, four new cartoon films were announced for it, in which we will see famous superheroes (via IGN).
More animations with Batman in the lead role are coming.
The first of these animations is Batman: Soul of the Dragon. It will be an original story set in the 70s of the last century. It was produced by Bruce Timm, the co-creator of the legendary Batman: The Animated Series. David Giuntoli will play the role of Bruce Wayne / Batman.
The second of four animations from the DC universe planned for next year is Justice Society: World War II. This is another production with an original story, the action of which, as the title suggests, will focus on the theme of World War II. The premiere is scheduled for spring 2021.

As for the third and fourth of the mentioned titles, they will be a two-part adaptation Long Halloween. It is a title that will surely make the hearts of many fans of Batman’s adventures beat faster. The story written by Joseph Loeb and first published in the form of a comic mini-cycle in 1996-1997 is now considered a cult story. It focuses on the struggle of the Bat Man, who was still in the initial period of his activity, with a mysterious murderer called Holiday, who attacks only on holidays. In the background we have the mafia and a whole galaxy of well-known villains, led by Joker. In addition to the efficiently implemented criminal plot, Long Halloween can also boast a very interesting figure of the district attorney Harvey Dent, before the transformation into Two Faces. His characterization proposed by Loeb became one of the inspirations for Christopher and Jonathan Nolan in the production of The Dark Knight from 2008 (via Polygon).
Of course, the question remains whether to the creators of the animated version of The Long Halloween will manage to capture the specific, dark atmosphere and complexity of the original comic book, or they will get a bit lost as in the case of the cartoon version of another cult comic about Batman, i.e. the Killer Joke. We will find out about it next year. The first part of the screening will be released in the summer, and the second part in the fall.

Finally, we remind you that fans of animations from the superhero DC universe will receive something special this fall – a cartoon version of the loud Death in the family.
