Crescent Moon’s Morphite is a first-person space action platformer with a procedurally generated world. Morphite is pretty much the spiritual successor to No Man’s Sky on mobile, except that instead of millions of procedurally generated worlds, the game features 15 planets, but it’s well designed and unlike any other.

Morphite is set in the distant future, when humanity has transcended the solar system and explored the far reaches of space. The game’s protagonist, a young woman named Myra Cale, lives and works on a space station with her adoptive father, Mr. Mason.
What started as a simple outing for supplies turns into a perilous journey, during which Myra must unravel the secrets of her past and discover how a rare material called morphite is connected to her. In search of clues, the girl must travel to distant unknown planets and traverse the unexplored corners of space, at the same time fighting exotic predators and inhabitants of the planet in search of morphite.
The game is made in “blocky” three-dimensional graphics, which gives Morphite a peculiar atmosphere. For the most part, you have to play the game from a first-person perspective. The control of the characters is done with joysticks and floating buttons. There are several tools at your disposal, such as a scanner that allows you to observe the local flora and fauna and a pistol in case the “bugs” become aggressive. There are also grenades and a tracker to call a shuttle to your location. Also, you can scan alien creatures and sell information about their bio-indicators to upgrade your spaceship and weapons.

In the “space” levels, you will mainly have to jump. In addition, you will have to periodically refuel, fight pirates and overcome other obstacles.
The Morphite levels are very well done. Some of them consist of jumping, while others consist of shooting or solving puzzles. As you complete each level, you will be able to unlock new worlds. The game gives you the opportunity to roam wherever you want, but you still better follow the plot as there are rewards for doing so.
Playing Morphite you feel like you are part of a huge space opera. Your hero is not alone in the universe, but he is surrounded by other characters that you want to know more about. Where other Crescent Moon developments seemed bland, the world of Morphite is very rich. There is always something to explore and someone to fight with.
