The information has been revealed by an official post on the Resetera website
A few weeks ago, we found out through a leak that Capcom and Sony they were preparing to reveal the fifth game of Devil May Cry. Sadly, those plans have changed and it looks like we will have to wait until the E3 2018 officially watch the game.
But that doesn’t mean we don’t have information about the game. The details that have come to light range from a launch window mid to late 2018 until the beginning of 2019, game mechanics, setting, story details and much more. The game also looks like it will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive as Sony has funded part of the game.

Release date
The game is scheduled to launch between April 2018 and March 2019. The original plan was to launch it in November 2018, but the date could have been pushed back to early 2019. There is also a official trailer, not yet published, for the game for a while now, in which it shows the story, cinematics and some characters. The project manager is Hideaki Itsuno.
Story and characters
The story is a direct continuation of the Devil May Cry 4. There will be about 3 playable characters, possibly including Dante and Nero. The Dante that we will meet in this new title will be a more serious character than in the rest of the games. He will still “play” with his enemies but there will be a lot of introspection, so we can get to know him in depth.

The greatest enemy we will have to face would be “The Prince of Darkness”
They also speak of a sequence in which Vergil and Nero will fight during their sequence, so it is confirmed that Vergil is Nero’s father.
Performance and playability
The game will run at 60 FPSIt will not be open world but the levels will have a much broader design than previously seen. Movement outside of combat has been streamlined to match the open nature of the game.

No multiplayer PVP
The level design and exploration are more Bayonetta-like with action elements. As a curiosity there will be no resistance bar. It will not be a Musou game, but there will be encounters where you will face more enemies than you are used to in a Devil May Cry game. Dodge’s system has been reworked and dodging in general is supposed to be much smoother than before. The camera walks away during big fights, the developers are very proud of the new more dynamic camera system.
