Xbox Series S Can Be Challenging For Future Games
O Xbox Series S it’s the Series X are powerful next-gen consoles, but the Xbox Series X was simply designed to be more powerful. The Series X has triple the GPU power of the Series S and is also capable of rendering 4K games at 60 FPS. Although the S is smaller, it lacks some key performance areas that could make it a difficult choice for some next-gen games of the future.

In a recent interview with WCCFTech, the Technical Director Oleksander Shyshkovtsov 4A Games’ development team, which made Metro Exodus, highlighted some issues the Xbox Series S will face. Shyshkovstov says that while limited RAM on the S Series “is not an issue for us (currently)”, “GPU performance presents challenges for future titles”. 4A Games’ rendering capabilities are geared towards running games at 4K and 60 FPS, and the Series S’s limited capabilities in these specs may limit the developer’s future games to the console.
4A Games is releasing an enhanced version of Metro Exodus on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X and S this year, with the goal that the game will be able to run smoothly in 4K and 60 FPS on all platforms. Faster loading times and ray tracing capabilities for consoles are also expected. 4A Games said Metro Exodus will run at 60FPS on the Xbox Series S, even with the ray tracing feature turned on.
