Contents
After launching the new Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro, Huawei is once again betting on the tablet sector with the new Huawei MatePad Pro, a high-end tablet with a 10.8-inch screen and the most powerful processor that the Chinese company designs in-house, the Kirin 990.
The device, for now at least, remains in its homeland. It arrives in four and stands out for having stretched the screen towards the corners using Infinity-O Display technology, better known as “hole in the screen”. It can be purchased in several versions of RAM and internal storage and the price to change ranges between 425 and 580 euros to change.

More screen and more power
We start by reviewing the design of the Huawei MatePad Pro. The device has a clean rear that will be available in black, white, orange and blue. In the central area we have the name of the brand and in the upper right corner the module that houses the single rear lens and LED flash. The speakers have been placed on both sides and in terms of ports, it has USB type C, but not a headphone minijack.
Regarding the screen, Huawei has opted for a conventional IPS / LCD panel with a diagonal of 10.8 inches. It has 2K + resolution (2,560 x 1,080 pixels) and it stretches considerably reducing the frames thanks, in part, to the perforation of the screen that hides the front camera. Huawei has emphasized this point, boasting that the frames of the Huawei MatePad Pro are 4.3 mm, while those of the iPad Pro and the Galaxy Tab S6 are 8.3 and 8.5 mm, respectively.

The screen is stretched by reducing the frames to a thickness of 4.3 millimeters
Under the hood of this high-end tablet we find the uHuawei’s latest processor, the Kirin 990. It is the same SoC that we find in the new Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro and stands out for being manufactured in seven EUV nanometers and for its eight cores divided into three clusters (two high performance, two medium performance and four energy saving) . Accompany you six or eight gigs of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal storage expandable with NM Cards.
The mobile and the tablet, now more united
Inside the Huawei MatePad Pro we can also find a 7,250 mAh battery with 15W fast charging and, interestingly, wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. This, remember, is used to charge any compatible device by placing it on the tablet. It also has magnetic pins in the upper area to charge the M-Pen. Because yes, the Huawei MatePad Pro is compatible with M-Pen and, depending on the brand, charging it for 30 seconds using reverse wireless charging we can use it for 10 minutes.

The operating system is EMUI 10 based on Android 10, being the third device of the brand that is launched with the new version of its customization layer. The news of EMUI 10 we already know them from its presentation, but it should be noted that it will be possible to connect a Mate 30 or Mate 30 Pro and play the mobile screen on the tablet, as well as receiving calls or interacting with the device.
In terms of connectivity, the Huawei MatePad Pro comes in two versions that are subdivided into two others, depending on whether we want it with 4G connectivity or not. In the case of opting for this connectivity, it will be necessary to introduce a nanoSIM. It also has ac WiFi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.1 and, as we anticipated in previous paragraphs, USB type C.
Before reviewing the price and versions, it is convenient to stop for a second to talk about the camera. The Huawei MatePad Pro has two sensors, one behind and one in front. The rear is 13 megapixels with aperture f / 2.0 and the front is eight megapixels with aperture f / 1.8. It is possible to record in 4K at 40 frames per second and, of course, the AI will be present to optimize the taking of photographs.
