New MacBooks, iMacs, and even a new Mac mini for the fall. This is what Apple could announce soon.

We are practically two weeks away from Apple’s September keynote. In this highly celebrated and expected event, the iPhone and other of its products are announced. Due to the few novelties throughout 2018, a shower of new products is expected for autumn. It will no longer be just mobile devices. We are talking about new watches, iPad, accessories and a whole renovation of the Mac. Starting with the iMac and continuing with the MacBook and even the Mac Mini. Seeing the rumors and the trajectory of Apple, this is what they could announce.
Cheaper and more attractive new MacBooks
I’ve been saying for many years that they should lower the price of their new MacBooks. The processor and power do not seem to justify the price. If nonetheless, Apple maintains a somewhat excessive starting price. For those who want to save money and have a Mac, there is the MacBook Air, with an old but comfortable and light design. The problem with these models beyond the design is the screen, which is not as beautiful or sharp, as well as the trackpad, the keyboard, etc. To offer us an economical version without lowering the price of their finite and still new MacBooks, they could update the MacBook Air with a slightly different design from the classic one. That is an option. The other would be to release a new model somewhat inferior to the rest but powerful and capable of almost anything.
The fact that the laptops have not been updated this summer says a lot. They would be waiting to do it in the fall and in style. Some novelties that are discussed are Face ID, although it is not clear that they will introduce it so soon and for the more “basic” models of the new MacBooks instead of the Pro ones.
iMac and iMac Pro, small continuous changes for 2018
I’ve been saying for quite some time that the design should change a bit. A bezel-less screen would be appreciated, although possible limitations to the internal design are understood. In any case, it is not believed that this year they will change the external appearance. Yes, they would present new models with the new processors and more power. We may see some major announcement that surprises us, but I think it’s still early. There are already enough news to focus so much on the iMac during the same keynote that we see the new iPhone X, iPad Pro and many other products.
In the event that the Macs had so much news and so much change, they could be moved to another event in November, so as not to saturate too much. In any case, we will remain attentive to any report or news related to iMac and iMac Pro.
The Mac Mini isn’t dead, it was just absent
The focus of interest for this fall in regards to this range would be to see what happens with the Mac Mini. According to the latest analysis, it would update its specifications and perhaps its design to make the developers happy. These are the main market for Apple when it comes to this product. The general public will go for the iMac or the new MacBooks, but professionals may not need more than a computer like this capable of running macOS. By improving specifications they would suffer a price increase, but I already anticipate that it would be justified by it. What is not justified in any case is that they have not updated them for so long. So much so that many of us already believed that the Mac Mini was dead. Apple itself reported that this is not the case, that it is still alive and will have an update soon.
And this is what we could see this fall. First of all new MacBook 2018 with different sizes and options to choose from. Second, the new iMacs and perhaps some big news regarding them. And, for those who have been waiting for it, that much-desired new Mac Mini.
