New MSI Prestige 14 Evo and Summit E13 Flip, features, price and technical sheet.

The announcement of the new family of processors Tiger Lake, with the Intel Core of 11ª generation, has caused the habitual renewal of ranges of diverse manufacturers. MSI did not want to miss out on this opportunity, and has just launched new laptops in which there is also renewed achievement.

The new teams are the MSI Prestige 14 Evo and the MSI Summit E13 Flip, an ultralight laptop and a convertible that boast the advantages of Intel’s new platform, such as Iris Xe graphics and an autonomy of more than 10 hours. The Modern range is also renewed with Tiger Lake, although there is not too much data for now on many of those new teams.

New logo for Tiger Lake premiere and Iris Xe graphics

For this manufacturer this has been a good opportunity to change the image of your corporate logo, which can now be a bit confusing initially because of that “M” formed by three bars without any connection between them, but which certainly has what it takes to become a recognizable distinctive on these teams.

One of the first teams to release this logo is the MSI Prestige 14 Evo, an ultraportable of only 1.29 kg with a slim design that highlights a hinge that makes the keyboard rise slightly (5 ° in that part) and is inclined to offer an ergonomic position to the user.

The screen frames are reduced on the sides, but not so much at the top – where we find the HD webcam and the IR camera. An assumable concession taking into account that for example the second allows facial recognition, thus joining the fingerprint sensor located in one corner of the touchpad.

The computer has 11th generation Intel Core i7 processors, although specific models have not been specified, up to 32 GB of RAM and up to 2 TB of storage in an M.2 NVMe SSD unit that, attention, leverages the PCIe 4.0 standard that promises theoretical maximums close to 8 GBps of transfer.

The advantages of the inclusion of the new Intel platform are also noted in the promise of its integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics, which theoretically will allow you to play games, even in the case of demanding titles, at 1080p with a good level of detail and fluidity.

The team also has two USB-C ports with the new Thunderbolt 4 interface (a slight variation of the Thunderbolt 3), and also with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity.

Summit and Modern ranges renewal

MSI has not only launched this ultralight equipment, but together with it it has indicated that it also has prepared the MSI Summit E13 Flip, a computer with a touch screen capable of rotating almost 360 degrees in order to make us use the equipment as a large tablet.

There is currently no data on the specifications or the price of a team that we still know that will also integrate 11th generation Intel Core processors.

Considering that the equipment belongs to the Summit E range, it is expected that offer high-end options, but at the moment the details of some equipment are not known that from the images will also have an IR camera and a really remarkable design.

These teams, aimed at professional environments, have special options such as password protection to BIOS, storage on your SSD or blocking the USB and SD ports.

There are support for Intel vPro platform, and in addition to the convertible model it will feature more conventional notebooks such as the B14, B15, E14 and E15 with larger screen diagonals, and, in the E series, with touch screens and even support for discrete NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti graphics.

In MSI too they will renew the Modern range, but at the moment the specific models affected are not known, and yes that these teams will also arrive with Tiger Lake as an essential argument of this new iteration.

Price and availability of the MSI Prestige 14 Evo and the MSI Summit E13 Flip

MSI has only indicated that these teams will begin to be available “early October 2020” at the usual distributors.

Of course, we do not have an exact date nor the prices to which these new laptops will be sold in which the 11th generation Intel Core undoubtedly want to make a difference. We will update this information as soon as we can access that data.
