Authors Diablo iv presented a fresh report on the progress of the project.
The developers thanked the players for their positive feedback. The creators also paid attention to the criticism, trying to take into account various comments.
Then Diablo IV Chief Systems Designer David Kim talked about the changes and innovations. First of all, the question touched skills and talents characters.
Blizzard took into account criticism regarding Demonic, Angelic and Ancient powerswhich, according to some, looked “not interesting enough.” The player also does not have to carry with him an exorbitant amount of items with similar powers to receive a small bonus – the amount of such “work” has been reduced.
However, the authors do not abandon the system itself, promising to better configure it in the future.
In addition, the creators are considering the issue Legendary items… They agree that the player is now too dependent on items, so the balance will be adjusted at this point. Also, the developers are studying the process of distributing indicators itself, so that there are no situations when a specific item of a particular class is stronger than a legendary one.
They promised to tell in more detail about the changes next time.
The authors decided to complicate the systems of talents and skills, as a result of which they created a new Upgrade tree… Now branches for active and passive skills exist separately.
This is a skill tree Sorceresses – on the branches are active skills (squares) and their improvements (circles), while in the roots are hidden passive effects (diamonds). As you progress, new points will open on the tree. It is impossible to get everything at once in one pass – the authors count on 30-40% filling.
In addition, the developers want to create unique mechanics for each class, and this time we also talked about Sorceresses. Their skills can be placed in the “active” window, or in an additional “upgrade” slot. In the second case, the player will not be able to directly use the skill, but will receive additional strength bonuses.
All this allows you to experiment with the distribution of skills, creating a unique set for your passage. Now the creators are trying to come up with unique mechanics for Druids.
An example is the skill Meteor Strike – if you place it in the “improvements” window, then meteors will more often fall on the battle zone, but you will no longer be able to control the point of impact.
Finally, we talked about the character progress system in endgame… More details on this later, but it will be another source of unique power for each class, opening up more replayability than Diablo III’s Paragon.
The system will be calculated to satisfy the hardcore fans of the series.
