Fifteen days after declaring herself the victim of an anti-Semitic attack, a forty-year-old from Var admitted having invented everything.
On November 8, a young woman from Six-Fours-les-Plages in the Var said she had been slapped and threatened with death by an individual who had previously forced her to remove a mezuzah from the entrance to her home. According to the complainant, the attacker in question also stole 800 euros before fleeing.
The day after this attack, the alleged victim presented himself at the Sanary-sur-Mer police station. The Toulon public prosecutor’s office then contacted the Toulon judicial police branch.
A fabricated attack
Two weeks after this testimony, the forty-year-old finally admitted to having invented everything. She confessed after investigators used CCTV footage, reveals BFMTV. The latter then understood that it was an imaginary attack. The woman was taken into custody for “false reporting of an imaginary crime”
The false victim tried to explain her lie by a difficult financial context and a gambling addiction. The Varoise was brought before the Toulon public prosecutor’s office this Monday, November 20 and will appear next April 15 in court for “false denunciation having led to useless research and breach of trust”, always according to BFMTV.
While awaiting his judgment, Six-Fournoise was left free under judicial supervision. She has an obligation of care and is prohibited from frequenting gambling establishments.
