Canadians Leylah Fernandez and Gabriela Dabrowski will meet in the quarterfinals of the US Open women’s doubles.
On Monday, Dabrowski and New Zealander Erin Routliffe qualified without even playing. They took advantage of the package of the pair composed by the Czechs Barbora Strycova and Marketa Vondrousova.

The latter reached the quarter-finals in singles during the day, which explains her doubles forfeit.
Fernandez teams up with American Taylor Townsend. The two athletes beat Czech Karolina Pliskova and Croatian Donna Vekic 7-6(3) and 6-1 on Sunday in the round of 16.
Fernandez and Townsend have had a lot of success together in 2023, including reaching the finals of Roland Garros and the Miami Open. Both women are seeded sixth at the US Open. For their part, Dabrowski and Routliffe are the 17are favourites.
