Apple’s work on introducing the next generation of cellular communications is gaining momentum. Reputable journalist Mark Gurman from SamaGame stated this in his new publication.
According to Gurman, Apple is now increasingly paying attention to 6G networks, despite all the difficulties that the company encountered in developing its own 5G modem. Back in 2021, Apple began publishing the first highly specialized vacancies for 6G-related positions. And just recently, another similar vacancy appeared on the company’s website – Apple is looking for a specialist who will coordinate the design and modeling of the 6G reference architecture.
We would like to add that mobile operators are already working on the next generation of mobile communications. At the end of 2020, Apple joined the Next G Alliance, an industry group created by the ATIS Alliance. According to experts, 6G technology will provide a 100-fold increase in speed compared to 5G.
