Battlefield 2042 is fast approaching. DICE’s multiplayer shooter had already given us a glimpse of its latest specialists a few days ago and now offers us a dive into three of his cards, supporting gameplay.
We see not only the specialists in action, but above all the drastically different design of the maps that the developers describe to us in stride:
Renewal, is an eclectic landscape set in an Egyptian desert with a solar power plant on one side and a lush research center on the other. A wall separates the two regions and has various entry points, including a bottleneck at the entry control point in the middle of the map, often contested in Conquest. Players should also prepare for close quarters combat in these areas as well as the two Renewal buildings. Rupture (Breakaway), located in Antarctica, features an offshore platform off the frozen coast, as well as a station perched above the battlefield, making it a focal point for aerial battles. On the fractured paths of the Glacier, players battle around icy cliffs connected by ziplines and rope bridges, and where the quick use of a parachute could mean the difference between life or death. Dump (Disgarded) features a flooded village on the west coast of India, a dismantled hull and a Colossus Ship to explore. This map features plenty of cover and close combat. The huge ship allows players to fight inside while planes attack from above and tanks attack from the hull. With unpredictable weather, players will need to be on their toes as the threat of a tornado could hit the map at any time.
With Orbital, which we were able to test during our preview and the open beta, there are only 3 cards left that we haven’t had the opportunity to see yet.
Battlefield 2042 will be available on November 19 (12 for early access available in deluxe editions) on PS5, Xbox Series, PC as well as on PS4 and Xbox One.
