Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth won’t force Wutai to “evolve” Part 3

It has already been confirmed that Wutai will not make an appearance in Renaissance last week, but creative director Tetsuya Nomura expanded on that point in a new interview. Here he stated that one of the reasons why they chose to delay Wutai until the third part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake Project was to “evolve it”.

For fans of the original FFVII, you will know that Wutai is an extremely interesting region. The team has so much potential to grow the area and its offerings, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store. In Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion, Wutai made a small appearance for the first mission as Zack. Although it may be disappointing that Wutai does not make an appearance in RenaissanceIt’s great to hear that the team is planning to make it bigger and more expansive than ever.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the sequel to the critically acclaimed film Final Fantasy VII Remake. This is the second entry in the Remake Project, a collection of three games recreating and reimagining the story and world of Final Fantasy VII. The first game was originally announced at E3 2015 during Sony Interactive Entertainment’s PlayStation show. Final Fantasy VII Remake then launched worldwide exclusively on PlayStation 4 on April 10, 2020. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergradean expanded and improved version of the PS4 title, was announced for PlayStation 5 the following year.

Then the news of the second title was revealed to the Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary Stream in June 2022. The news remained quiet until this summer, when a new trailer showcasing the world and gameplay was released at Summer Game Fest. A huge amount of information has been confirmed, including confirmation of Vincent & Cid not being playable, a “new episode with Zack”, the game’s file size, and much more.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is set to launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024. The title will be exclusive to the platform until May 29, 2024. A Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, and Collector’s Edition are available for pre-order now.
