It has already been more than 2 and a half years since Final Fantasy VII remake was announced at the conference sony at E3 2015. That same year, Square-Enix had offered a first sequence of gameplay at the PlayStation Experience but since then the game has almost completely disappeared from radar screens. However, during an interview with Famitsu, Yoshinori Kitase, the producer of the remake, wanted to reassure the fans.

He clarified that development was progressing well and work would continue in 2018. Of course, we will probably have to wait several more months before diving back into this fabulous universe in the company of Cloud, Tifa or even Aeris. We will have to content ourselves with these meager words for the moment.

Moreover, Shinji Hashimoto, who looks after the Final Fantasy brand at Square-Enixgave players an appointment for E3 2018 where the publisher will try to raise the expectation around its games currently in development. Hashimoto hasn’t openly mentioned Final Fantasy VII Remake so it’s not impossible that this opus will still be absent from the media scene for a little while.

Square-Enix will probably center its communication around other titles like Kingdom Hearts III, which will be released this year.
