As we indicated last night, Hideo Kojima’s contract with Konami is officially over. News that the creator commented on via Twitter. For him, it’s a new beginning and he will continue to create as long as he is alive:

In addition, information obtained by the Nikkei site suggested a collaboration between Hideo Kojima and the manufacturer Sony on a temporary exclusivity. This partnership is also official, as evidenced by the video recorded by Andrew House, CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment and Kojima-san.
The man who runs the company says:
Hideo Kojima has contributed enormously to the history of PlayStation, so we are delighted that he has chosen to develop his new project in partnership with us. We look forward to working with him and welcoming him to the PlayStation family.
Hideo Kojima has formed a new independent studio called Kojima Productions. And yes, if Konami Japan obviously had fun dismantling the team, part of it is already coming back to life:
I’m taking on a new challenge by opening my own studio, and I’m delighted to be able to experience this journey with PlayStation, with whom I have continued to work over the past few years. I can’t wait to release this new franchise with PlayStation.
The title in development is therefore indeed a PlayStation exclusive, at least for the moment.
