Appearing at the end of the second chapter, the Sea Spider is one of the most formidable bosses in Armored Core VI: Fires of the Rubicon. Especially since this encounter comes shortly after players face Balteus, it can be quite frustrating. Here’s how to stop the spider crab from hindering your progress in Armored Core 6 and defeat them once and for all.

Preparation

Before taking on the Sea Spider, you need to make sure you have everything you need. For this fight, it is recommended to use a lighter build for better mobility. Make sure you’ve upgraded your generator, as you’ll want to be able to use Quick Boost as much as possible.

One of the best weapons to bring into this fight is a Pile Bunker. While you should bring other weapons that might help stagger the spider crab, the Pile Bunker will do most of the major damage. As always, be sure to check for upgrades to your operating system, as they may come in handy.

Staying close to the Sea Spider will make your life easier.

One of the keys to winning this fight is to always be on the move. However, you don’t want to stray too far from the Sea Spider itself. If you do, it will be harder to evade some of his attacks, which can be very devastating, especially if he manages to knock you down. By moving around the Sea Spider, you can easily evade many of its attacks, including its powerful beam.

Don’t be afraid to use the Pile Bunker before staggering the Spider Crab. With a charged attack, it can still deal fairly high damage and will help bring down the boss much faster. Despite this, you must be careful when attacking. You need to be very close, and if the Sea Spider suddenly moves, chances are the Pile Bunker won’t hit.

During the second half of the fight, the Sea Spider will take off. Use an Assault Boost to close the gap, but also be sure to watch your energy. It is not advantageous to be on the ground during this phase. Keep attacking with your Pile Bunker when possible, and the spider crab won’t take much longer to destroy.
